How to Factory Reset Philips Headphones or Earbuds

Reset your Philips device to clear saved Bluetooth connections and prepare it to pair again.

Before you start: Charge your Philips headphones or earbuds before resetting them. Choose your model below.
Philips PH805

Step 1 – Enter Pairing Mode

Put the headphones into Bluetooth pairing mode. Look for:

RED & BLUE flashing alternately = Pairing mode

Step 2 – Factory Reset

While RED & BLUE are flashing:

  1. Push the Power button upward and keep holding it.
  2. While holding the Power button, double-tap the touch control panel.
PURPLE flashes 3 times = Reset complete
Philips TAH5205

Step 1 – Enter Pairing Mode

Put the headphones into Bluetooth pairing mode. Look for:

RED & BLUE flashing alternately = Pairing mode

Step 2 – Factory Reset

  1. Push the Power button toward +.
  2. Keep holding it for more than 6 seconds.
PURPLE LED = Reset complete
Philips TAT5505
Important: Reset both earbuds together.
  1. Put the LEFT and RIGHT earbuds into the charging case.
  2. Check that both earbuds flash:
WHITE flashing = Ready to reset
  1. Press and hold the function button on both earbuds at the same time for about 4 seconds.
WHITE flashes twice = Reset complete
Philips Fidelio M2BT
  1. Make sure the headphones have enough battery power.
  2. Press and hold the Volume / Track Control button and Call / Music button together.
  3. Keep holding until the LED flashes.
WHITE flashes 5 times = Reset complete

Using a different Philips model? Check your Philips user manual for the correct factory reset steps.

Pair with an Avantree Transmitter Again

  1. Put the Philips headphones or earbuds into Bluetooth pairing mode.
  2. Put the Avantree transmitter into Bluetooth pairing mode.
  3. Keep both devices close together and wait for them to connect.
Reset Did Not Work?
  1. Make sure the headphones or earbuds have enough battery power.
  2. Follow the instructions for your exact Philips model.
  3. Hold the buttons for the full amount of time.
  4. Do not release the buttons until you see the correct reset confirmation:
  • PH805: PURPLE flashes 3 times
  • TAH5205: PURPLE LED
  • TAT5505: WHITE flashes twice
  • Fidelio M2BT: WHITE flashes 5 times
