How to connect Apple AirPods Max to Avantree transmitters and dongles?

Connect AirPods Max to an Avantree Bluetooth Transmitter

Follow these steps to connect your AirPods Max to an Avantree transmitter or dongle.

Step 1 – Turn Off Bluetooth on Nearby Devices

Turn off Bluetooth on any phone, tablet, computer, or other device that has connected to your AirPods Max before.

Important: This prevents your AirPods Max from automatically reconnecting to another device while you are pairing them with the Avantree transmitter.

Step 2 – Put AirPods Max in Pairing Mode

  1. Press and hold the Noise Control button on your AirPods Max.
  2. Keep holding until the status light flashes white.

Step 3 – Put the Avantree Transmitter in Pairing Mode

Put your Avantree transmitter or dongle into Bluetooth pairing mode. The pairing button and indicator light can differ by model, so check your transmitter's user guide if needed.

Step 4 – Wait for the Connection

  1. Keep the AirPods Max and Avantree transmitter close together.
  2. Make sure both devices are in pairing mode at the same time.
  3. Wait a few seconds for them to connect.
Once connected, the pairing lights should stop flashing. Your AirPods Max are now ready to use with the Avantree transmitter.

AirPods Max Still Will Not Connect?

Reset AirPods Max and Try Again

If pairing still fails, clear the pairing history on both the AirPods Max and Avantree transmitter, then repeat the steps above.

  1. Charge the AirPods Max for a few minutes.
  2. Press and hold the Noise Control button and Digital Crown together for about 15 seconds.
  3. Release the buttons after the LED flashes amber, then white.

The AirPods Max will return to pairing mode and be ready to connect again.
