How to Factory Reset Beats Headphones, Earbuds or Speakers
Reset your Beats if it will not connect, keeps connecting to the wrong device, or needs its saved Bluetooth connections cleared.
Before you start: Charge your Beats device before resetting it. Choose your model below.
Beats Studio3 Wireless
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume – button together.
- Keep holding for about 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons when the Fuel Gauge lights flash.
Reset complete: Your Beats Studio3 is ready to pair again.
Beats Solo3 Wireless
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume – button together.
- Keep holding for about 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons when the Fuel Gauge lights flash.
Reset complete: Your Beats Solo3 is ready to pair again.
Powerbeats Wireless
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume – button together.
- Keep holding for about 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons when the LED indicator flashes.
Reset complete: Your Powerbeats are ready to pair again.
Powerbeats Pro
- Put both earbuds inside the charging case and leave the case open.
- Press and hold the System button inside the case.
- Keep holding until the indicator flashes:
RED & WHITE flashing = Reset
- Release the button.
Flashing WHITE = Ready to pair
Reset complete.
Reset complete.
Beats Pill+ Speaker
Important: The Beats Pill+ must be connected to power during this reset.
- Connect the Beats Pill+ to a power source using its Lightning-to-USB cable.
- Turn the speaker ON.
- Press and hold the “b” button and Power button together for about 6 seconds.
Fuel Gauge flashes RED 6 times = Reset complete

BeatsX Wireless
- Press and hold the Power button and Volume – button together.
- Keep holding for about 10 seconds.
- Release both buttons when the LED indicator flashes.
Reset complete: Your BeatsX is ready to pair again.

Pair with an Avantree Transmitter Again
- Put the Beats headphones, earbuds, or speaker into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Put the Avantree transmitter into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Keep both devices close together and wait for them to connect.
Reset Did Not Work?
- Make sure you are following the instructions for your exact Beats model.
- Hold the buttons for the full amount of time.
- Do not release the buttons until you see the correct reset indicator.
- For Powerbeats Pro, make sure both earbuds are inside the charging case.
- For Beats Pill+, make sure the speaker is connected to power before resetting.
