C81 connected to PS5 but no sound? Your PS5 may be switching audio output automatically, or your Bluetooth headphones or speaker may not be connected. Follow these steps to restore sound.
Turn OFF Automatic Audio Switching
- On PS5, go to Settings → Sound → Audio Output.
- Find Switch Output Device Automatically.
- Set it to OFF.
This prevents PS5 from automatically switching away from your selected audio output device.
Select C81 as Audio Output
- Stay in Settings → Sound → Audio Output.
- Under Output Device, select the C81 USB audio device.
- Set Output to Headphones to All Audio.
- Play a game or video to test.
Check Bluetooth Connection and Volume
Look at the LED light on your C81. This tells you whether your Bluetooth headphones or speaker are connected.
Your headphones or speaker are connected. Continue with the volume checks below.
Follow these steps to reconnect:
- Turn OFF Bluetooth on nearby phones, tablets, or computers that may already be connected to your headphones or speaker.
- Put your headphones or speaker into Bluetooth pairing mode. Usually, this means holding its Bluetooth or power button until its indicator flashes.
- If C81 is not flashing blue and white, hold its multifunction button for about 2 seconds to enter pairing mode.
- Wait for the C81 LED to turn solid blue. This indicates a connection.
Not sure how to put your device into pairing mode? See our Bluetooth Pairing Guide .
- Increase the volume on your headphones or speaker.
- On PS5, go to Settings → Sound → Volume and increase headphone volume.
- Play audio again.
Try Another PS5 USB Port
- Unplug C81 from your PS5.
- Plug it directly into another compatible PS5 USB port.
- Wait for your headphones or speaker to reconnect, then test the sound.
Do not use a USB hub. Connect C81 directly to the PS5.
Test Another Bluetooth Device
If C81 shows a Bluetooth connection but you still cannot hear anything, try connecting another pair of Bluetooth headphones or a different speaker.
Your original speaker may have a compatibility issue with C81. Some Bluetooth speakers can connect successfully without playing audio.
