Before You Start: No sound usually means the earbuds are not connected to the transmitter, the TV is not sending a compatible audio signal, or the audio connection needs checking. Follow these three steps to find and fix the problem.
Step 1 – Check the Earbud Connection
Turn on the HT3831 dock and both HT381 earbuds. Keep the earbuds close to the transmitter and check their LED indicators.
Not Solid Green? Turn on the earbuds and keep them close to the transmitter. They should connect within a few seconds.
How to Connect the Earbuds →Step 2 – Check the TV Audio Signal & Settings
Play TV audio and check the Power / Signal light on the HT3831 dock.
Why PCM? For Optical connections, the transmitter needs a compatible stereo signal. Set the TV audio format to PCM / Stereo. Dolby, DTS, or Bitstream may cause no sound.
Choose your TV connection type and check the matching settings.
Step 3 – Check Connections, Volume & Restart
- Check that the audio cable is fully inserted into the TV and the HT3831 dock.
- Use only one audio connection. If using Optical, unplug anything from the dock’s AUX port; an AUX cable can take priority over Optical.
- Use the earbuds’ volume wheel toward + and move the L/R Balance control toward the middle. For a TV Headphone / AUX connection, increase the TV volume too.
- Make sure the TV is not muted. Try another channel, video, or app.
- Still no sound? Turn off the dock and earbuds, turn them back on, and test again.
Still No Sound?
Tell us your TV model, connection type (Optical, AUX, or RCA), the dock’s Power / Signal light status, and whether the earbuds’ LEDs are solid green.
