HT3831 – How to Connect the Transmitter Dock to Your TV

Choose one connection method below to send TV audio to your HT381 earbuds.

Look at your TV's audio ports first.

Do not turn anything on yet. Choose only ONE connection option below.

RECOMMENDED

Use this option if your TV has a port labeled OPTICAL OUT, DIGITAL AUDIO OUT, TOSLINK, or SPDIF.

Make sure the cable is fully inserted at both ends.

Using your TV remote, open Settings → Sound / Audio.

Important: Use PCM.

If your TV is set to Dolby, DTS, Bitstream, Auto, or another unsupported format, you may hear no sound.

Power the HT3831 dock, turn on the earbuds, and play something on your TV.

Solid GREEN = TV audio is being received. If you hear sound, setup is complete.

Use this option if your TV has a 3.5 mm Headphone or AUDIO OUT port.

Solid GREEN = Audio signal received

Use this option only if the red and white ports are labeled AUDIO OUT or OUTPUT.

Check the port labels—not only the colors.

AUDIO IN, INPUT, AV IN, and COMPONENT IN ports cannot send TV sound to the HT3831.

Option 4 – Using an AV Receiver

Connect the HT3831 to an audio output on the AV receiver. Play TV audio, then check the HT3831 Power / Signal light.

Optical Is Connected but There Is No Sound

AUX has priority. If something is plugged into AUX, the transmitter may ignore the Optical input.

Red & White RCA Is Connected but There Is No Sound

Check the labels beside the TV ports. You need AUDIO OUT. Ports labeled AUDIO IN, AV IN, or COMPONENT IN will not work.

The Dock Is Solid Green but I Still Hear No Sound

Solid green means the transmitter is receiving TV audio. Next, check whether the HT381 earbuds are connected to the transmitter.
