Both Devices Must Be in Pairing Mode
For a successful connection, both your headphones and your SoundJet R1 must be in pairing mode at the same time. If your headphones reconnect to a phone, tablet, computer, or TV first, the SoundJet R1 may not be able to connect.
Before You Start
Your headphones may automatically reconnect to a phone, tablet, computer, or TV before the SoundJet R1 gets a chance to pair with them.
- Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby devices your headphones normally connect to.
- Keep the headphones and SoundJet R1 close together while pairing.
- Make sure the headphones have enough battery and the SoundJet R1 is powered on.
Quick Check
Try these steps in order. Keep your headphones close to the SoundJet R1.
1 Turn Off Bluetooth on Nearby Devices
Turn Bluetooth off on phones, tablets, computers, or TVs your headphones normally connect to.
2 Put Your Headphones in Pairing Mode
Make sure the headphones are in Bluetooth pairing mode. Simply turning them on may not be enough.
How do I know the headphones are ready?
- The Bluetooth light should be flashing repeatedly.
- You may hear a voice prompt such as "Pairing" or "Ready to connect."

⚠ Both are flashing but won't connect
Move them closer together and turn Bluetooth off on nearby devices that may be trying to connect to your headphones.
Why This Happens
Bluetooth headphones often remember previously paired devices and may automatically reconnect to them before the SoundJet R1 can connect. This behavior depends on the headphones and the other Bluetooth device, such as your phone, tablet, computer, or TV.
Tip
Using AirPods? Temporarily turn Bluetooth off on nearby Apple devices to help prevent your AirPods from reconnecting to them while you pair with the SoundJet R1. For detailed instructions, see the AirPods pairing guide →
Still Not Working?
Try these final steps:

Turn the SoundJet R1 and your headphones off, then turn them back on and repeat the Quick Check above.
2. Reset your headphones if needed.
