You can use your soundbar and Audikast 4 at the same time. The correct setup depends on whether your soundbar is connected to the TV by Optical or HDMI ARC / eARC.
Check the cable between your TV and soundbar
Match your current soundbar connection to one of the two options below.
How is your soundbar connected?
Choose the connection your soundbar currently uses.
Soundbar Connected by Optical
Use an Optical splitter so the TV can send the same audio to both Audikast 4 and the soundbar.

SPLITTER
TV OPTICAL OUT → Optical Splitter → Audikast 4 + Soundbar
Disconnect the soundbar's Optical cable from the TV
Leave the other end connected to the soundbar.
Connect the TV to the Optical splitter
Connect the TV's DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) to the splitter's Optical input.
Connect one splitter output to Audikast 4
Use an Optical cable to connect one output from the splitter to Audikast 4.
Connect the other output to the soundbar
Connect the second Optical splitter output to the soundbar's Optical input.
Both devices should now receive TV audio
- The soundbar plays the TV audio.
- Audikast 4 receives the same TV audio.
- Your connected hearing aids or headphones receive sound through Audikast 4.
Soundbar Connected by HDMI ARC / eARC
Use the Avantree HAX06 to keep the soundbar connected through HDMI ARC while also sending Optical audio to Audikast 4.

Connect and power the HAX06
Connect HAX06 to USB power, then connect the TV's HDMI ARC / eARC port to HDMI ARC IN on HAX06.
Connect HAX06 to the soundbar
Connect HDMI ARC OUT on HAX06 to the HDMI ARC input on your soundbar.
Connect HAX06 to Audikast 4
Use an Optical cable from OPT OUT on HAX06 to OPTICAL IN on Audikast 4.
Turn BYPASS ON
BYPASS must be ON when using the HDMI ARC soundbar and Audikast 4 at the same time.
Enables the HDMI ARC output to your soundbar.
BYPASS → ONWhen HDMI ARC is active with Bypass ON, the Bypass LED should be solid green.
SOLID GREENTurn eARC OFF on the TV
HAX06 uses standard HDMI ARC. If your TV has eARC, turn eARC OFF and make sure ARC / HDMI-CEC is enabled.
Both devices should now receive TV audio
- The soundbar receives TV audio through HDMI ARC.
- Audikast 4 receives TV audio through HAX06's Optical output.
- Your connected hearing aids or headphones receive sound through Audikast 4.
Audikast 4 connected, but there's no sound?
When using Optical audio, check the TV's digital audio format.

Still Not Working?
Open the issue that best matches your setup.
The soundbar works, but Audikast 4 has no sound
- Make sure the Optical cable is fully inserted at both ends.
- Confirm the cable is connected to OPTICAL IN on Audikast 4.
- Play a TV program with sound.
- Check the Audikast 4 Audio Signal indicator.
- Set the TV's Digital Audio Output / Digital Audio Format to PCM.
Audikast 4 works, but the soundbar has no sound
Optical setup: Make sure one Optical splitter output is connected to the soundbar's Optical input.
HDMI ARC setup: Make sure HAX06 HDMI ARC OUT is connected to the soundbar's HDMI ARC input and BYPASS is ON.
My HDMI ARC setup isn't working
- Use the TV port specifically labeled ARC or eARC.
- Make sure ARC and HDMI-CEC are enabled on the TV.
- Turn eARC OFF.
- Set HAX06 BYPASS → ON.
- For Optical output to Audikast 4, set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM.
I hear an echo between the soundbar and hearing aids / headphones
The soundbar and wireless listening device may have different audio delays, so they can sound slightly out of sync when both are heard at the same time.
