If your hearing aids connect to the Auracast broadcast but the sound cuts in and out, stutters, or disconnects, start with the test below. In many cases, the hearing aids are switching between the Auracast broadcast and another wireless device.
First, isolate the connection
The fastest way to find the cause is to temporarily remove other Bluetooth connections, then test the hearing aids with only the Avantree transmitter.
Turn OFF Bluetooth on your phone
Do this first before changing any other settings.
On your phone or tablet, turn Bluetooth completely OFF. Then reconnect your hearing aids to the Auracast broadcast and test the audio again.
Keep the hearing aids near the transmitter while testing.
Still stuttering or disconnecting?
Open each step below and test again after completing it.
2 Turn off Bluetooth on other nearby devices
Temporarily turn off Bluetooth on other devices that may already know or connect to your hearing aids, such as:
- Smartwatches
- Tablets
- Laptops or computers
- A second phone
3 Refresh the hearing aids
- Place both hearing aids back into their charging case.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Take them out again.
- Reconnect to the Auracast broadcast.
- Test the audio.
4 Move closer to the transmitter
For this test, stay within a few feet of the Avantree transmitter and check whether the audio becomes stable.
5 Restart the transmitter and hearing aids
- Turn off the Avantree transmitter.
- Turn off or place the hearing aids into their charging case.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Turn the transmitter back on.
- Turn on the hearing aids and reconnect to the Auracast broadcast.
Optional: Test for smartphone wireless interference
If the problem continues, you can temporarily disable other wireless signals on nearby smartphones as a troubleshooting test.
- Keep Bluetooth off.
- Temporarily turn off Wi-Fi.
- Temporarily turn off mobile data (4G/5G).
- Test the Auracast connection again.
If the connection becomes noticeably more stable, nearby wireless activity may be contributing to the interruption. You can turn Wi-Fi and mobile data back on after testing.
