No Sound from HAX06?

Try the fixes below first. If you're using HAX06 with an Avantree transmitter, we'll help you identify where the audio stops.

Important Compatibility Check

HAX06 Must Connect to a TV's HDMI ARC/eARC Port

HAX06 is designed specifically to receive audio from a TV's HDMI ARC/eARC port. It is not a standard HDMI audio extractor. Check this before troubleshooting anything else.

Do not connect streaming devices directly to HAX06. Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and similar devices should connect to another HDMI input on the TV.

Standard HDMI outputs are not compatible. HDMI ports on laptops, monitors, and projectors cannot be used as the HAX06 audio source.

Try These Fixes First

Most HAX06 no-sound issues are caused by the TV's HDMI ARC or audio settings.

Connect HAX06 to the TV's HDMI port labeled ARC or eARC. Do not use a regular HDMI port.

In the TV settings, turn HDMI-CEC and ARC ON.

Turn HDMI eARC OFF.

Set the TV's Digital Audio Format / Digital Audio Output to PCM.

Restart the TV, then unplug and reconnect the HDMI cable if there is still no sound.

Still No Sound on the Headphones or Hearing Aids?

Check whether the transmitter is receiving audio from HAX06.

Transmitter detects audio HAX06 is likely working correctly. Check the connection between the transmitter and your headphones or hearing aids.

Transmitter does not detect audio Recheck PCM, ARC/CEC, eARC OFF, the HAX06 Bypass setting, and the cable between HAX06 and the transmitter.

Transmitter still does not receive audio

Make sure TV audio is actively playing.
Reconnect the Optical or RCA cable between HAX06 and the transmitter.
Make sure the transmitter input selector matches the connection being used.
Confirm the TV's Digital Audio Format is set to PCM.
Restart the TV, HAX06, and transmitter.
Try another HDMI or audio cable if available.

Transmitter receives audio, but headphones / hearing aids are silent

If the transmitter is receiving audio, you usually do not need to change the HAX06 settings again.

Bluetooth headphones: Confirm they are connected to the transmitter. Re-pair them if necessary.
Auracast hearing aids: Make sure the hearing aids have joined the transmitter's Auracast broadcast.
If the transmitter has different headphone or hearing-aid modes, select the correct mode.

Soundbar works, but transmitter has no sound

Set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM.
Turn eARC OFF.
Set the HAX06 Bypass switch to ON.
Confirm the Bypass LED is solid green.
Reconnect the Optical or RCA cable between HAX06 and the transmitter.

TV speakers stopped playing after connecting HAX06

This can be normal. When HDMI ARC is enabled, many TVs automatically route audio through the ARC connection instead of the built-in TV speakers.
