HAX06 - Fix No Sound

Before You Start: HAX06 must connect to a TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port. It is not a standard HDMI audio extractor. Connect Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, and other streaming devices to a separate HDMI input on the TV, not directly to HAX06. Standard HDMI outputs on laptops, monitors, and projectors are not compatible.

Step 1 – Check the TV Connection

1. Connect HAX06 to the TV’s HDMI port labeled ARC or eARC. Do not use a regular HDMI port.
2. In the TV settings, turn HDMI-CEC and ARC on.
3. Turn HDMI eARC off.

Step 2 – Set the TV Audio Format

In the TV’s Sound or Audio settings, set Digital Audio Format / Digital Audio Output to PCM.

Step 3 – Choose Your HAX06 Setup

Find your setup below and check the Bypass setting and cable connections.

Step 4 – Check the Audio Connection

Play TV audio, then follow these checks if you still have no sound:

1. Make sure the headphones or hearing aids are paired to the transmitter.
2. Make sure TV audio is actively playing.
3. Reconnect the Optical or RCA cable between HAX06 and the transmitter.
4. Check that the transmitter input matches the cable.
5. Recheck the TV’s PCM, ARC/CEC, and eARC settings, and the HAX06 Bypass setting.
6. Restart the TV, HAX06, and transmitter.
7. Try a new HDMI or audio cable, if available.

TV speakers stopped playing after connecting HAX06? This can be normal. When HDMI ARC is enabled, many TVs route audio through the ARC connection instead of their built-in speakers.
