Harmony 2 – How to Keep the Speakers Always On While Plugged In

Want your Harmony 2 speakers to stay ON all the time while connected to power?

Currently, this feature is not available with the existing firmware. A new firmware version is being developed to add the Always-On feature.

When Will the Always-On Firmware Be Available?

The firmware is currently being developed and tested.

Estimated availability: End of September 2026

Please note: This is an estimated date and may change depending on development and testing.

What Will the New Firmware Do?

With the new firmware:

✓ Speakers stay ON while plugged into power

✓ Speakers do not automatically turn off when there is no audio

You can leave the Harmony 2 plugged in and ready to use without needing to turn the speakers back on after they have been idle.

Good to Know

Is Something Wrong With My Speakers?

No, not necessarily. If your Harmony 2 speakers automatically turn off when there is no audio, this does not necessarily mean they are defective. The current firmware does not support the Always-On feature.

Can I Change a Setting to Keep Them On?

No. There is currently no setting or button combination that enables Always-On mode.

Important: A factory reset will not add or enable this feature.

Can I Update the Speakers Myself?

No. The Always-On firmware cannot be installed by customers. It requires an RMA replacement with speakers updated by Avantree.

What Should I Do Now?

You can continue using your Harmony 2 normally.

If you specifically need the speakers to stay ON continuously, contact Avantree Support. Once the new firmware is available, we can help arrange an RMA replacement with speakers that have already been updated at our facility.
