Use Avantree With Phonak Hearing Aids – Avantree Support

Phonak hearing aids can connect to Avantree transmitters in two different ways.

Many Phonak models use Classic Bluetooth, while newer Auracast-compatible models such as Audéo Sphere and EON Sphere can use an Avantree Auracast transmitter

Which Connection Should I Use?

Choose the option that matches your Phonak hearing aids.

Classic Bluetooth

Phonak Marvel, Paradise, Lumity & Similar Models

These hearing aids connect to a compatible Avantree transmitter using standard Bluetooth. Follow the pairing instructions below.

Connection:

Avantree Bluetooth transmitter → Phonak hearing aids

Newer Models

Phonak Audéo Sphere / EON Sphere

Newer Phonak models with Auracast support can receive audio directly from an Avantree Auracast transmitter. You do not need to use the Classic Bluetooth pairing method below when connecting through Auracast.

Using Classic Bluetooth? Turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone first.

Phonak hearing aids may automatically reconnect to a previously paired phone. Temporarily turning Bluetooth off helps the hearing aids connect to the Avantree transmitter instead.

Classic Bluetooth Models

Connect Your Phonak Hearing Aids

Use these steps for Phonak models that connect through standard Bluetooth.

Turn Off Phone Bluetooth

Turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone, tablet, and other nearby devices previously paired with the hearing aids.

Restart the Hearing Aids

Place both Phonak hearing aids into their charging case.

Start Transmitter Pairing

Put your Avantree transmitter into Bluetooth pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator should flash red and blue.

Remove the Hearing Aids

Remove both hearing aids from the charging case. They automatically enter pairing mode for approximately 3 minutes.

Keep Them Close

Keep the hearing aids and transmitter close together and wait for the connection.

Check the Connection

Once connected, the transmitter's Bluetooth indicator should turn solid blue.

What should the transmitter LED show?

Flashing Red & Blue

The Avantree transmitter is in Bluetooth pairing mode.

Solid Blue

The hearing aids are connected.

Not Connecting Through Bluetooth?

Try these before pairing again.

Phone Bluetooth

Confirm Bluetooth is OFF on nearby phones, tablets, computers, and TVs.

Restart the Hearing Aids

Put both hearing aids back into the charging case, then remove them again to restart pairing mode.

Restart Pairing Mode

Put the Avantree transmitter back into red-and-blue flashing Bluetooth pairing mode.

Move Them Closer

Keep the hearing aids close to the transmitter until the initial connection is complete.

Using a Classic Bluetooth Phonak model?

A small amount of audio delay may be noticeable when watching TV or video. If your newer Phonak model supports Auracast, use the Auracast connection method instead.
