DISH Cable TV No Sound

DISH TV – No Sound Through Avantree Headphones or Speakers

If other TV sources have sound but DISH does not, change the audio setting on your DISH receiver.

DISH Version 40.0, 50.0, 52.0, or 54.0

Using your DISH remote:

1. Press the Home button twice.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Audio Output.
4. Find Dolby Digital Pass-through.
5. Set it to OFF.

Older DISH Versions

Go to Menu → System Setup → Audio Output → Decoder, then set Decoder to PCM.

Do Not See “Decoder”?

Go to Menu → System Setup → Audio Output → Mode, then set Mode to PCM.

Check Your TV PCM Setting

If your Avantree transmitter is connected to the TV using Optical, set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM.

Test the Sound

Play a DISH channel after changing the setting. Your Avantree headphones or speakers should now receive sound.
