Amazon Fire TV – No Sound Through Avantree Headphones or Speakers

If you get no sound when watching Fire TV, change the Fire TV audio format.

Step 1 – Open the Fire TV Audio Settings

Using your Fire TV remote, go to Settings → Display & Sounds → Audio.

Step 2 – Change the Audio Format

The setting name depends on your Fire TV version.

If You See “Dolby Digital Output”

Select Dolby Digital Output → Dolby Digital Plus OFF.

Step 3 – Check Your TV PCM Setting

If there is still no sound and your Avantree transmitter is connected to the TV using Optical, set the TV's Digital Audio Format to PCM.

Test the Sound

Play a Fire TV video after changing the setting. Your Avantree headphones or speakers should now receive sound.
