NB16-Q – How to Use It as the 2nd Pair of Headphones with HT4186-Q

Add another NB16-Q so two people can listen to the TV together.

Connect the original NB16-Q first. Keep it ON and connected while pairing the second NB16-Q.

Before You Start

  1. Turn your TV OFF.
  2. Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, and computers.
  3. Turn the Audikast-3 transmitter ON.
  4. Keep both NB16-Q headphones close to the transmitter.

Step 1 – Connect the Original NB16-Q First

  1. Turn the original NB16-Q ON.
  2. Wait for it to reconnect to the transmitter.
Original NB16-Q and Transmitter 1 = Solid BLUE

Do not continue until the original NB16-Q is connected. Leave it ON.

Step 2 – Put the Second NB16-Q in Pairing Mode

  1. Start with the second NB16-Q OFF.
  2. Press and hold its MFB middle button for 5 seconds.
  3. Keep holding when it first turns on. Release when you hear “Pairing.”
Flashing RED & BLUE = Ready to pair
Simply turning the second NB16-Q on is not enough. It must be flashing red and blue.

Step 3 – Put Transmitter 2 in Pairing Mode

On the Audikast-3 transmitter, press and hold the Headphone 2 button button until the indicator next to 2 flashes red and blue.

Transmitter 2 flashing RED & BLUE = Ready to pair

Step 4 – Wait for Connection

  1. Keep the second NB16-Q close to the transmitter.
  2. Do not press any additional buttons.
  3. Wait for the connection to complete.

Transmitter 1 + Transmitter 2 + Both NB16-Q headphones = Solid BLUE

Both pairs are connected. Turn your TV back ON and test both headphones.

How to Reconnect Both Pairs Next Time
  1. Turn the Audikast-3 transmitter ON.
  2. Turn the original NB16-Q ON and wait for 1 = Solid BLUE.
  3. Turn the second NB16-Q ON and wait 5–10 seconds for 2 = Solid BLUE.
1 + 2 Solid BLUE = Both pairs connected
Second NB16-Q Does Not Reconnect
  1. Confirm the original NB16-Q is connected: 1 = Solid BLUE.
  2. Turn the second NB16-Q ON and wait 5–10 seconds.
  3. If needed, press the Headphone 2 button button once and wait another 5–10 seconds.
2 = Solid BLUE
Want to Use Only the Second NB16-Q?
  1. Turn the transmitter ON.
  2. Turn the original NB16-Q ON.
  3. Wait for 1 = Solid BLUE.
  4. Turn the second NB16-Q ON.
  5. Wait for 2 = Solid BLUE.
  6. Turn the original NB16-Q OFF.

You can now listen with only the second NB16-Q.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?

Second NB16-Q Only Turns On

Turn it completely OFF. Hold its MFB for the full 5 seconds and keep holding when it first turns on.

Release only when RED & BLUE are flashing
Original NB16-Q Is Not Connected

Stop pairing the second headphones. Connect the original NB16-Q first and leave it ON.

Original NB16-Q + Transmitter 1 = Solid BLUE
Second NB16-Q Keeps Connecting to a Phone

Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, and computers. Then put the second NB16-Q into pairing mode again.

Transmitter 2 Is Not Flashing Red & Blue

Press and hold the Headphone 2 button button until the indicator next to 2 flashes red and blue.

Transmitter 2 = Pairing mode
