NB16-Q – How to Pair, Connect & Lock with HT4186 / HT5006

Use this guide if your NB16-Q headphones no longer connect automatically to the transmitter.

Do not stop after the headphones connect. Complete the LOCK step so they reconnect automatically next time.

Before You Start

Turn your TV OFF.
Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, and computers.
Keep the NB16-Q close to the transmitter.

Step 1 – Put the NB16-Q in Pairing Mode

Start with the NB16-Q completely OFF.
Press and hold the MFB middle button for 5 seconds.
Keep holding when the headphones first turn on. Release only when you hear “Pairing.”

Flashing RED & BLUE = Pairing mode

Simply turning the NB16-Q on is not enough. It must be flashing red and blue.

Step 2 – Put Your Transmitter in Pairing Mode

HT4186

Turn the HT4186 transmitter ON.
Press and hold the button for about 3 seconds.

Flashing RED & BLUE = Pairing mode

HT5006

Turn the HT5006 transmitter ON.
Press and hold the button.

Flashing GREEN & WHITE = Pairing mode

Step 3 – Wait for Them to Connect

Keep the NB16-Q close to the transmitter and wait a few seconds. Do not press any additional buttons.

NB16-Q Solid BLUE + “Connected” = Connected

HT4186 Solid BLUE = Connected

HT5006 TX / 1 Solid WHITE = Connected

Do not stop here. Lock the headphones next.

Step 4 – Lock the NB16-Q

HT4186 – Lock

After connecting, press and hold the same HT4186 pairing and lock button button for about 10 seconds.

PINK for about 2 seconds = Locked

The indicator will return to solid blue.

HT5006 – Lock

After connecting, press and hold the same HT5006 pairing and lock button button for about 10 seconds.

TX / 1 Solid GREEN for about 2 seconds = Locked

The TX / 1 indicator will return to solid white.

Step 5 – Test Automatic Reconnection

Turn the NB16-Q and transmitter OFF.
Wait about 5 seconds.
Turn the transmitter ON.
Turn the NB16-Q ON.
Keep them close and wait 5–10 seconds.

NB16-Q Solid BLUE + “Connected” = Reconnected

Turn your TV back ON and test the sound.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?

NB16-Q Turns On but Does Not Enter Pairing Mode

Turn the NB16-Q completely OFF. Hold the MFB for the full 5 seconds and keep holding when it first turns on.

Release only when RED & BLUE are flashing

NB16-Q Keeps Connecting to a Phone

Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, and computers. Then put the NB16-Q into pairing mode again.

Both Devices Are in Pairing Mode but Will Not Connect

Keep the TV and nearby Bluetooth devices OFF.
Keep the NB16-Q close to the transmitter.
Put both devices into pairing mode again.
Wait without pressing additional buttons.

Still Will Not Pair or Reconnect

Reset the transmitter and NB16-Q, then repeat the pairing, connection, and lock steps.
