C81 Factory Reset
Reset Your Avantree C81
Clear the C81's saved Bluetooth pairing history and start a fresh connection.
Before You Reset
A factory reset clears the C81's saved Bluetooth pairing history. You will need to pair your headphones or earbuds with the C81 again afterward.
- Keep the C81 plugged into a powered USB port.
- Turn Bluetooth off on nearby phones, tablets, computers, or other devices your headphones normally connect to.
- Keep your headphones or earbuds close to the C81 when you are ready to pair again.
Keep the C81 Plugged In
Make sure the C81 is connected to a powered USB port before starting the reset.
Put the C81 Into Pairing Mode
Press and hold the Multi-Function Button for 2 seconds. Release the button when the LED starts flashing blue and white alternately.

The C81 is now in pairing mode and ready to be reset.
Factory Reset the C81
While the C81 is still in pairing mode, double-click the Multi-Function Button.
Resetting
Blue + white stay on together
Both lights remain on for about 2 seconds.
Reset Complete
Blue and white flash alternately
The reset was successful and the C81 is ready to pair again.
Reset confirmation: If the LEDs return to alternating blue and white after the solid blue + white indication, the C81's previous pairing history has been cleared.
Pair Your Headphones Again
After the reset, put your headphones or earbuds into their own Bluetooth pairing mode. Keep them close to the C81 and wait for the connection.
Important: Simply turning the headphones on may not put them into pairing mode. Follow the headphone manufacturer's pairing instructions if needed.
Still Having Pairing Problems?
- Turn Bluetooth off on devices that your headphones previously connected to.
- Clear or reset the Bluetooth pairing history on your headphones or earbuds as well.
- If you are using a phone or computer for testing, turn its Bluetooth off and back on before trying again.
- Make sure both the C81 and your headphones are actively in pairing mode at the same time.
