Harmony – Fix Short Range, Static, or Audio Cutouts
Follow these steps if the Harmony sound cuts out, has static, or stops working when you move farther away.
Step 1 – Restart the Harmony System
- Turn OFF the Harmony transmitter and all speakers.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Turn the transmitter back ON first.
- Turn the speakers ON.
- Play audio and test again.
Step 2 – Test Close to the Transmitter
Move one speaker close to the transmitter and play audio.
Step 3 – Move Wireless Devices Away
Keep the Harmony transmitter at least 3 ft / 1 m away from:
- Wi-Fi routers
- TV boxes and streaming devices
- Bluetooth devices
- Microwave ovens
- Other wireless transmitters
Step 4 – Remove Physical Obstacles
Place the transmitter in an open area. Do not hide it behind the TV or inside a cabinet.
Keep the space between the transmitter and speakers as clear as possible. These can weaken the signal:
- Walls and doors
- Metal furniture
- Large appliances
- People standing directly between the devices
Step 5 – Reconnect the Affected Speaker
If only one speaker has the problem, leave the working speakers alone and reconnect only the affected speaker.
- Keep the affected speaker close to the transmitter.
- Put the speaker into Broadcasting / TV mode.
- Put the transmitter into speaker-pairing mode.
- Wait a few seconds for them to connect.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?
Only One Speaker Has the Problem
Move that speaker close to the transmitter and test it again. If the sound improves, reposition the speaker or remove obstacles. If it does not improve, reconnect only that speaker.
