Follow these four steps to connect your Bluetooth keyboard or mouse to a Windows computer using the Avantree DG45 adapter.
DG45 works with Bluetooth-enabled keyboards and mice. Check which wireless connection your device uses before proceeding.
Bluetooth keyboards and mice that support standard Bluetooth pairing.
2.4 GHz RF keyboards and mice that work only with their dedicated USB receiver.
Tip: Some keyboards and mice support both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz RF. If yours supports both, select its Bluetooth mode to pair with DG45.
Open Bluetooth Settings
First, open the Windows Bluetooth device pairing screen.
- Plug DG45 into your computer.
- Find the Bluetooth icon in the Windows taskbar.
- Right-click the Bluetooth icon and select Add a Bluetooth device.
In Windows Settings, select Add Bluetooth or other device, then choose Bluetooth.
Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Add device → Bluetooth.
Put Your Keyboard or Mouse in Pairing Mode
Turn on your Bluetooth keyboard or mouse and activate its Bluetooth pairing mode.
The pairing method varies by device. Refer to your keyboard or mouse user manual for the exact instructions.
Simply switching the keyboard or mouse on does not always activate pairing mode. If it was paired with another computer, follow its instructions to start a new pairing session.
Select Your Bluetooth Device
Once your keyboard or mouse is in pairing mode, Windows should search for nearby Bluetooth devices.
- Wait for your keyboard or mouse to appear in the device list.
- Select the name of your Bluetooth keyboard or mouse.
- Click the device to begin pairing.
Check that the keyboard or mouse supports Bluetooth and is still in pairing mode.
Complete the Bluetooth Connection
If Windows displays a pairing code, type the indicated code on your Bluetooth keyboard, then press Enter.
This step applies only when Windows asks for a keyboard pairing code.
For a Bluetooth mouse, follow any on-screen pairing instructions. The keyboard code-entry step normally does not apply.
Bluetooth Connected!
Your keyboard or mouse should now appear as connected in Windows and be ready to use.
Common Questions
Can I Use a 2.4 GHz Wireless Keyboard or Mouse With DG45?
DG45 supports Bluetooth keyboards and mice, not devices that work exclusively through a proprietary 2.4 GHz RF USB receiver.
If your device supports both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz RF, switch it to Bluetooth mode before pairing.
Why Can't Windows Find My Keyboard or Mouse?
Confirm that the device supports Bluetooth and is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
If it was previously connected to another computer or tablet, refer to its manual for instructions on starting a new pairing.
What Should I Do When Windows Displays a Pairing Code?
Type the code shown on the computer screen using the Bluetooth keyboard being paired, then press Enter.
