DG45 is designed for compatible Windows computers. On many systems, Windows can recognize DG45 without manually installing a driver.
Follow the steps below to prepare your computer, connect DG45, and install the driver if needed.
Prepare Your Computer
Check your existing Bluetooth settings before plugging in the DG45 adapter.
Open Device Manager
Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
Check whether the Bluetooth category appears.
You can skip the remaining Bluetooth preparation instructions and proceed to Step 2.
Check Existing Bluetooth Connections
If Bluetooth appears in Device Manager, expand the category to view the existing Bluetooth devices.
Follow the original Avantree instructions for removing previous Bluetooth connections when necessary.
If there are many previously connected Bluetooth devices, you can turn off Bluetooth in Windows settings before continuing.
Disable the Existing Bluetooth Adapter
If your computer already has a Bluetooth adapter, locate it in Device Manager.
Right-click the existing adapter and select Disable device as directed in the preparation instructions.
Disabling an existing Bluetooth adapter may disconnect Bluetooth keyboards, mice, or other connected devices. Make sure you have another way to control your computer.
Restart Your Computer and Connect DG45
After completing the preparation steps, restart your computer.
Once Windows has restarted, plug DG45 into an available USB port.
If Windows recognizes DG45 and Bluetooth works normally, you may not need to manually install the driver.
If DG45 is not recognized or Bluetooth is not working, continue to the driver installation step.
Download and Install the DG45 Driver
Follow this step if Windows does not recognize DG45 automatically or Bluetooth is not working.
Download the Driver
Extract the ZIP File
Locate the downloaded ZIP file, usually in your Downloads folder.
Right-click the file and select Extract All.
Run the Driver Installer
Open the extracted folder beginning with RTBlueR_Windows.
Find and double-click setup.exe.
Follow the prompts shown by the installer. Connect DG45 when instructed and allow the installation to finish.
Verify the Driver Installation
Once the installation is complete, open Device Manager.
Expand Bluetooth and look for:

Restart your computer with DG45 connected.
After restarting, check whether the Bluetooth icon appears in the Windows taskbar.
