Audikast volume too low, too loud, or not adjusting? The issue may be related to your TV audio settings, connected headphones, audio source, or volume controls. Follow the steps below.
Adjust Your Headphone & Audikast Volume
Your headphones and Audikast may have separate volume controls, so a low setting on either device can affect the sound level.
- Use the volume controls on your headphones or hearing aids, if supported.
- Press the Audikast + or − button to adjust the volume.
- Check whether the volume increases or decreases.
Note: The Audikast volume buttons should work with both Optical and AUX connections.
Check Your TV & Cable Box Audio Settings
Incorrect audio output settings on your TV, cable box, or streaming device may cause low volume or quiet dialogue.
TV — OPTICAL CONNECTION
Open your TV's sound settings and make sure Digital Audio Output = PCM.
CABLE BOX / STREAMING DEVICE
If you're using a cable box or external streaming device, open its Audio Settings and select PCM or Stereo instead of Dolby Digital or surround sound, if available.
Cable Box / Streaming Device PCM Settings Guide →
If the volume is especially low when watching Netflix or other streaming apps, try selecting a Stereo audio track instead of 5.1 or surround sound, when available.
SONY TV — ADDITIONAL SETTING
Some Sony TVs have a Digital audio out volume setting. If available, set it to MAX.
On supported models, go to Settings → Display & Sound → Audio output → Digital audio out volume.
Test Another Cable or Audio Device
A faulty cable, low-output audio source, or headphone-specific volume limitation can make the sound too quiet or prevent normal adjustment.
- Try another audio cable of the same type (Optical or AUX), if available.
- Test another audio source, such as a mobile phone connected to Audikast through AUX using a compatible cable.
- Try another pair of Bluetooth headphones to check whether the issue occurs with both pairs.
Compare the results to determine whether the issue follows the cable, audio source, or headphones.
Check the TV Remote Volume
Some TVs allow their audio output level to be adjusted with the remote, while others provide a fixed output level.
- Play audio through Audikast and your headphones.
- Try adjusting the volume using your TV remote.
- If the volume changes, adjust it to a comfortable level.
- If nothing changes, use the Audikast or headphone volume controls instead.
Note: TV remote volume control depends on the TV model, audio output settings, and connection type. Some TVs do not allow remote volume adjustment through Optical.
