Before You Start: If your Roadtrip won’t charge, turns off unexpectedly, or only works while plugged in, the cause may be a charging cable, power source, or internal battery issue. Follow these steps to identify the cause.
Step 1 – Check the Charging Lights
Connect your Roadtrip to a USB charger and check the four battery indicator lights.
All four lights solid white? Charging is complete. Disconnect the cable and test the Roadtrip.
Step 2 – Try Another Charging Cable & Power Source
- Slide the Roadtrip’s power switch to OFF.
- Disconnect and firmly reconnect the USB-C charging cable.
- Try another USB-C cable, power source, and working 5V USB charger.
- Leave the Roadtrip charging for 1–2 hours, then check the battery lights again.
Step 3 – Check Whether Roadtrip Works Without the Charger
- Disconnect the charging cable.
- Slide the power switch to ON.
- Check whether Roadtrip turns on and stays on.
Roadtrip turns on normally: The battery is supplying power.

Step 4 – Check Unexpected Power-Offs
Roadtrip has an automatic power-off feature. It may turn off about 10 minutes after your phone disconnects. This is normal.
- Make sure Roadtrip has been charged.
- Connect it to your phone and check whether it stays on during use.
- If it turns off while connected or repeatedly shuts down despite being charged, note when this happens.
Turns off only after you leave your car? This may be normal automatic power-off behavior.
Turns off during calls or music playback? The battery or power system may need further inspection. Contact Avantree Support →
