Disconnected Bluetooth headphones, an incorrect computer or console audio output, or low volume can prevent sound. Follow these 3 steps to fix the problem.
Check the Bluetooth Headphone Connection
Flashing blue and white LEDs mean your headphones are not connected and may still be connected to another device, such as your phone.
Plug DG80 into your computer or console's USB port, then check the LED indicator.
Headphones connected in Music Mode. Continue to Step 2.
Bluetooth pairing mode. Follow the pairing steps below.
If Your Headphones Are Not Connected
- Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, or computers previously paired with your headphones.
- Put your headphones into Bluetooth pairing mode. Simply turning them on may not activate pairing.
- Press and hold the DG80's Multifunction Button (MFB) for approximately 2 seconds, until the LED flashes blue and white.
- Keep DG80 and your headphones close together and wait for them to connect.
- Confirm the DG80 LED becomes solid blue in Music Mode.
Important: Do not pair your headphones through the computer's Bluetooth settings. DG80 works as a USB audio adapter, and your headphones must connect directly to it.
Still unable to pair? For DG80P, enter pairing mode, then double-click the MFB to clear the pairing history. Re-pair your headphones afterward. View DG80P Reset Instructions .
Check the Computer or Console Audio Output
The computer or console may be sending audio to the wrong output device. Select DG80 / the Avantree USB audio device as your sound output.
Follow the instructions for your audio source. The USB device name may vary by model.
Go to Start > Settings > System > Sound.
Under Output, select the connected Avantree USB audio device.
Play a video or music track to test the sound.
Go to System Settings > Sound > Output.
Select the connected Avantree USB audio device instead of the Mac's built-in speakers.
Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Output.
Set Output Device to USB Headset (Avantree DG80P) or the name of your connected adapter.
For DG80P, use Music Mode for better game audio. The LED should be blue.
DG80P PS5 Audio Setup GuideOpen Settings > Devices > Audio Devices.
Select the connected Avantree USB audio device as the Output Device.
Check that game audio is being sent to your headphones.
Using a communication or gaming app? Check the app's own audio settings as well. Its speaker output may be different from the computer's default sound output.
Check the Volume and Audio Mode
Muted volume or an incorrect audio mode may prevent sound from reaching your headphones.
- Play a video, music track, or game with sound.
- Make sure your computer or console is not muted and increase its volume.
- Increase the volume on your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
- If using DG80P, check the audio mode. Music Mode (blue LED) is recommended for listening and game audio. Talk Mode (white LED) is for supported voice-chat functions.
- On DG80P, double-click the MFB to switch between Music and Talk modes, then test the sound again.
- If there is still no sound, unplug DG80, connect it to another compatible USB port, and reselect the Avantree USB audio output.
Using a microphone for voice chat? Talk Mode requires a compatible Bluetooth headset. Audio quality or volume may be reduced in Talk Mode. For better game audio on PS5, use Music Mode with the controller microphone when appropriate.
