Harmony A1 – Firmware Update / DFU

Update your Harmony A1 system to receive the latest features, improvements, and fixes.

Important: Update every part of your system:
  • Each Harmony A1 speaker
  • Oasis Aura / Harmony transmitter

Before You Start

  • Use a Windows or Mac computer.
  • Use the included gray USB-C data cable.
  • Keep the device connected until its update is complete.
Use a data cable: A charging-only USB-C cable may charge the device but will not allow the Firmware Updater to find it.

Step 1 – Download the Firmware Updater

  1. Open the Harmony A1 firmware update page below.
  2. Download and install the Avantree Firmware Updater for your Windows or Mac computer.
  3. Open the Firmware Updater.

Step 2 – Update Each Harmony A1 Speaker

  1. Connect one Harmony A1 speaker directly to your computer with the gray USB-C data cable.
  2. In the Firmware Updater, select the detected speaker.
  3. Select the latest available firmware version.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions until the update is complete.
If you have more than one speaker, update one speaker at a time.

Step 3 – Update the Transmitter

  1. Disconnect the speaker after its update is complete.
  2. Connect the Oasis Aura / Harmony transmitter directly to your computer with the gray USB-C data cable.
  3. In the Firmware Updater, select the detected transmitter.
  4. Select the latest available firmware version.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions until the update is complete.

Step 4 – Reset and Test the System

  1. After all speakers and the transmitter are updated, reset the Harmony A1 system.
  2. Reconnect the system and test it normally.

Important: Do not disconnect the USB cable or close the Firmware Updater while an update is in progress.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?

Firmware Updater Does Not Detect the Device
  1. Make sure you are using the included gray USB-C data cable.
  2. Try a different USB port on your computer.
  3. Close and reopen the Firmware Updater, then reconnect the device.
Only One Part of the System Was Updated

Update every Harmony A1 speaker and the Oasis Aura / Harmony transmitter. Select the latest available version for each device, then reset the system and test it again.
