DFU (Device Firmware Update) unlocks several advanced features for Harmony A1.
1. Keep the speaker ON while plugged in
By default, the speaker auto powers off after 60 minutes without audio.
After updating the firmware, the speaker can remain powered on continuously while connected to external power, even if no audio is playing.
See the DFU guide.
2. Multiple systems in the same space (no cross-talk)
DFU will allow multiple Auracast channels in the same environment.
Each speaker group can join a different channel, allowing separate systems to run at the same time.
For example, System A speakers can play audio from Source A, while System B speakers play audio from Source B, without audio mixing or cross-talk.
This feature will be available in an upcoming DFU update (expected around late March).
3. Hearing-aid support settings
DFU will enable a hearing-aid mode, allowing the Harmony A1 transmitter to support compatible Auracast hearing aids.
After the update, the system can be configured for use with hearing aids.
This feature will be available in a future DFU update.
