Low-Latency Support Is Needed on Both Devices
For the lowest audio delay, both your Avantree transmitter and your headphones or earbuds must support a compatible low-latency Bluetooth technology. If your headphones only use standard Bluetooth audio, some delay is expected.
Quick Check
Try these quick checks first. They solve the most common causes of audio delay.
1Check Your Headphones
Confirm your headphones or earbuds support a compatible low-latency Bluetooth technology.
What should I look for?
- Look for aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, or Auracast in the headphone specifications.
- If your headphones only support standard SBC or AAC, some audio delay is expected.
2Check the Transmitter Indicator
Check the LED or display on your Avantree transmitter to see which Bluetooth connection is being used.
Check the Connection
Look for a low-latency indicator such as aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, or Auracast.
The exact indicator depends on your transmitter model.
3Move the Devices Closer
Keep your headphones close to the transmitter and reduce nearby wireless interference.
TRY THIS
Move the devices closer
Keep the headphones near the transmitter while testing.
ALSO TRY
Reduce interference
Move away from Wi-Fi routers and other active Bluetooth devices.
4Re-Pair the Devices
If your headphones support low-latency audio but the correct connection isn't showing, pair the devices again.
Before pairing again
- Disconnect the headphones from other Bluetooth devices.
- Put both the headphones and transmitter into pairing mode, then reconnect them.
Why This Happens
Audio delay usually comes from Bluetooth compatibility, the connection type, or wireless interference.
! Headphones don't support low latency
The transmitter cannot remove Bluetooth delay by itself. Your headphones or earbuds must also support a compatible low-latency technology.
! Devices use a standard codec
If the connection uses standard SBC or AAC instead of a compatible low-latency option, you may notice a delay between the picture and sound.
! Headphones aren't compatible
Some third-party headphones and earbuds don't support the low-latency technology used by the transmitter. In this case, the limitation comes from the receiving device.
! Wireless interference
Wi-Fi routers, nearby Bluetooth devices, and longer distances can affect the connection and may increase audio delay.
Tip
When choosing headphones or earbuds for your Avantree transmitter, check their specifications for a compatible low-latency Bluetooth technology.
- Look for aptX Adaptive, aptX Low Latency, or Auracast.
- Bluetooth support alone does not guarantee low-latency audio.
- If your headphones only support standard Bluetooth audio, some delay may still be noticeable.
Still Not Working?
Contact Avantree Support and include both model names:
- Your exact Avantree transmitter model
- Your exact headphone / earbud model
Providing both model names helps us give you the correct pairing and compatibility steps faster.
