Do not start by re-pairing the headphones.
First check the headphone connection and the TV audio signal. Most no-sound problems happen because the transmitter is not receiving a valid audio signal from the TV.
Follow These Checks in Order
Start with the headphone light, then check the transmitter and the TV connection.
Check the Headphone Connection
Turn on the headphones and transmitter, then look at the headphone LED.
The headphones are connected to the transmitter. Continue to Step 2.
Reconnect the headphones and transmitter before checking the TV audio.
Check the Transmitter's Audio Signal
Play a TV program with sound and look at the transmitter's signal indicator.
Using Optical / TOSLINK Check the OPT input and TV digital audio format.
Make sure the optical cable is connected to the TV's Optical OUT / Digital Audio OUT port.
Set the HT280 transmitter input selector to OPT.
Set the TV's digital audio output format to PCM.
Unplug and firmly reconnect the optical cable at both ends.
If your TV's HDMI ARC port is being used, temporarily disconnect it and test the HT280 again.
Using AUX / Headphone Output Check the analog audio output and TV volume.
Make sure the cable is connected to the TV's Headphone / Audio OUT jack.
Set the HT280 transmitter input selector to AUX.
Increase the TV volume to a normal listening level.
If possible, connect a wired pair of headphones directly to the same TV output. If the wired headphones also have no sound, the TV is not sending audio from that port.
Using Red / White RCA Make sure the TV ports are audio outputs.
Make sure the red and white TV ports are labeled Audio OUT. Do not use Audio IN ports.
Set the HT280 transmitter input selector to AUX.
Reconnect the RCA and AUX cables firmly, then play TV audio again.
Test the Sound
Once the headphones are connected and the transmitter is receiving a valid audio signal, play a regular TV channel or video with clear speech.
Turn up the headphone volume and listen again.
Regular TV Works, but Netflix or Prime Video Has No Sound?
Start the affected program first, then check the TV's digital audio format again. When using Optical, set the digital audio output to PCM.
Fix Streaming Service AudioDid the HT280 Stop Working After Sitting Idle?
The HT280 enters standby after about 5 minutes without audio. The headphones can disconnect from the transmitter when this happens.
Start playing audio again. If the headphones do not reconnect, use the connection guide to reconnect them.
