Before You Start: No sound may mean the speaker is not connected to the transmitter, the transmitter is not receiving audio, or the volume is too low. Follow these steps to check your Harmony A2.
Step 1 – Check the Auracast Speaker Connection
- Turn on the Harmony A2 transmitter and speakers.
- Keep the speakers near the transmitter while they connect.
- If a speaker keeps flashing orange, turn it off and back on. Keep it near the transmitter and wait a few seconds for it to reconnect. The speaker LED should turn solid orange.
Note: The speaker must be in Auracast mode (orange LED) to connect to the transmitter. If the LED flashes red and blue, the speaker is in Bluetooth pairing mode and won’t connect. Press the Auracast button once to switch modes.
Step 2 – Check the Audio Signal & Transmitter Input
Play audio and check the transmitter’s AUX/OPT input indicator.
Choose the input that matches your audio source.
Why PCM? For Optical connections, the transmitter needs a compatible stereo signal. Set the TV audio format to PCM / Stereo. Dolby, DTS, Bitstream, Auto, or Pass Through may cause no sound.
Step 3 – Check Volume & Restart
- Press + on the transmitter to raise its volume.
- Press + on each Harmony A2 speaker to raise its volume.
- Increase the volume on your TV, phone, or other audio source and make sure it is not muted.
- Try another song, video, channel, or app.
- If there is still no sound, try a new cable of the same type.
- Turn off the transmitter and speakers, then turn them back on and test again.
