NB18 – How to Connect Directly to a Smart TV

You can connect the NB18 directly to a Smart TV if your TV supports Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth audio.

Important: Some TVs have Bluetooth for the remote control but do not support Bluetooth headphones.

Before You Start

Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, and computers previously connected to the NB18.
Keep the NB18 close to the TV while pairing.

Step 1 – Put the NB18 in Pairing Mode

Start with the NB18 OFF.
Slide the power switch toward PAIR and keep holding it there.

Flashing RED & BLUE = Pairing mode. You should also hear “Pairing.”

Simply turning the NB18 ON is not enough. Make sure the LEDs are flashing RED and BLUE.

Step 2 – Open Your TV's Bluetooth Settings

Open your TV's Sound / Audio Output settings.

Look for an option such as:

Bluetooth Speaker
Bluetooth Headphones
Bluetooth Audio
Bluetooth Device List

TV menus are different depending on the brand and model.

Step 3 – Select and Connect to Avantree NB18

Wait for your TV to find nearby Bluetooth devices.
Select Avantree NB18.
If the TV asks for confirmation, select Pair, Connect, or Yes.
Wait a few seconds for the connection to finish.

Solid BLUE = Connected

You should also hear “Connected.” Play something on the TV and check for sound.

Next Time You Use the NB18

Turn ON the NB18. It should try to reconnect to the last connected device.

If it does not reconnect, press the Power button on the earbuds once to reconnect.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?

Avantree NB18 Does Not Appear on the TV

The NB18 must be flashing RED and BLUE.

Turn the NB18 OFF.
Slide and hold the switch toward PAIR.
Keep holding until RED and BLUE start flashing.
Search again on the TV.

TV Finds NB18 but Will Not Connect

Remove or Forget Avantree NB18 from the TV's Bluetooth list.
Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones and tablets.
Put the NB18 into flashing RED and BLUE pairing mode again.
Search again from the TV.
Select Avantree NB18.

My TV Does Not Have a Bluetooth Headphone Option

Your TV may not support Bluetooth audio. If your NB18 came with an Avantree TV transmitter, use the transmitter instead. You can also check your TV manual to confirm whether it supports Bluetooth headphones or Bluetooth audio.
