Audition 3 – Sound Distorted, Unclear, or Not Natural?
If the sound is distorted, too sharp, unnatural, or weak for music, follow these steps in order.
Step 1 – Switch to Balanced Mode
The Audition 3 starts in Voice Clear Mode. This makes speech easier to hear, but music and other sounds may not sound natural to everyone.
- Put on your headphones.
- Play music, TV audio, or another program.
- Find the EQ button on the LEFT earcup.
- Press the EQ button once.
- When you hear “Balanced Mode,” listen to the audio again.
Which Mode Should I Use?
Balanced Mode → More natural sound for music and everyday listening
Voice Clear Mode → Makes voices and dialogue easier to hear
Step 2 – Check the Volume
Very high volume can sometimes make audio sound harsh or uncomfortable.
- Lower the headphones volume a few levels.
- Play the same audio again.
- Slowly increase the volume until it is comfortable.
If you are using the headphones with a phone, tablet, or computer, also check the volume on that device.
Step 3 – Using the Headphones With a TV Transmitter?
If your headphones are connected through an Avantree transmitter, check the TV audio connection too.
Using AUX / 3.5 mm?
A loose 3.5 mm connection may cause distorted sound. Unplug the 3.5 mm cable, then reconnect it firmly at both ends.
Using Optical?
Make sure the TV is sending sound through its Optical / Digital Audio Output and that the correct digital audio format is selected.
TV settings vary by brand. Use the guide below to find the correct Optical and PCM settings for your TV.

Sometimes the problem comes from the TV program, video, music, or app rather than the headphones.
TV dialogue sounds bad? Try music.
Music sounds distorted? Try a different song or video.
If other audio sounds normal, the headphones are probably working correctly. The original program, channel, video, or app may be the cause.
Step 5 – Is the Sound Cutting In and Out?
If the sound breaks up, crackles, cuts in and out, or becomes worse when you walk away, the problem may be the Bluetooth connection.
- Move closer to the connected device or transmitter.
- Avoid large walls or objects between you and the Bluetooth device.
- Move away from Wi-Fi routers and other wireless equipment.
- Turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby devices you are not using to avoid interference.
- Test the headphones again.
