How to Find Bluetooth Settings on Your Smart TV

Use these steps to connect Bluetooth headphones or earbuds directly to your TV.

Before you start: Put your headphones or earbuds into Bluetooth pairing mode. TV menu names may vary slightly by model.
Samsung TV
  1. Press Home on the Samsung remote.
  2. Go to Settings → Sound → Sound Output.
  3. Select Bluetooth Speaker List, then select your headphones or earbuds.
Older Samsung TVs:
2016 K models: Home → Settings → Sound → Expert Settings → Wireless Speaker Manager → Bluetooth Audio Devices 2015 J models: Menu → Sound → Additional Settings → Bluetooth Audio
LG TV
  1. Press the Settings ⚙ button on the LG remote.
  2. Select All Settings or Advanced Settings.
  3. Select Sound → Sound Out.
  4. Select Bluetooth Device, Bluetooth, or Use Wireless Speaker.
  5. Select your headphones or earbuds from the list.
Sony TV
  1. Press Home or Settings on the Sony remote.
  2. Go to Settings → Remotes & Accessories → Bluetooth Settings.
  3. Select Add Device.
  4. Select your headphones or earbuds, then press Enter to connect.
Some Sony TVs show the Bluetooth option under Settings → Display & Sound → Audio Output.
Vizio TV
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Bluetooth or Bluetooth Option.
  3. Select Pair Device.
  4. Select your headphones or earbuds, then press Enter to connect.
No sound after connecting? Go to Settings → Audio → Bluetooth Audio and turn it ON.

Can’t Find a Bluetooth Option?

  1. Open the TV’s Sound or Sound Output settings.
  2. Look for Bluetooth, Bluetooth Speaker, or Wireless Speaker.
  3. Check whether your exact TV model supports Bluetooth audio. Some TVs use Bluetooth only for the remote or other accessories.
  4. Check the user manual for your exact TV model if the option is still not available.

TV Does Not Support Bluetooth Headphones?

You can use Bluetooth headphones with many TVs by connecting a Bluetooth transmitter to the TV’s audio output.

If you are using an Avantree TV headphone set with its own transmitter, you normally do not need to pair the headphones directly with the TV. Follow the setup instructions for your Avantree product instead.
