How to Fix Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Interference
If your Bluetooth headphones or speakers have audio cuts, static, or a weak connection, nearby Wi-Fi or wireless devices may be causing interference. Follow these steps in order.
Step 1 – Move Your Devices Apart
- Move your Avantree transmitter at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from your Wi-Fi router.
- Keep the transmitter away from other wireless devices.
- Place the transmitter in an open area, not behind the TV or inside a cabinet.
- Play audio and check if the problem improves.
Still having problems? Continue to Step 2.
Step 2 – Test Your Wi-Fi Connection
- Keep your Avantree transmitter and headphones turned ON and connected.
- Temporarily turn OFF your Wi-Fi router.
- Play audio and check if the sound improves.
- Turn your Wi-Fi router back ON.
Sound improves when Wi-Fi is OFF? Your Wi-Fi network may be interfering with the Bluetooth connection.
Step 3 – Remove Other Wireless Interference
- Move away from nearby wireless devices, such as cordless phones, wireless cameras, and microwave ovens.
- Keep the transmitter and headphones close together.
- Make sure there are no large metal objects or thick walls between them.
- Test the sound again.
Step 4 – Restart Your Bluetooth Devices
- Turn OFF your Avantree transmitter.
- Turn OFF your headphones or speaker.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Turn both devices back ON.
- Wait for them to reconnect.
- Play audio and check again.
Still Having Problems?
Try using your headphones or speaker right next to the transmitter.
Sound works normally when close? Distance, obstacles, or wireless interference may be affecting the connection.
Sound still cuts out when close? The issue may not be caused by Wi-Fi interference.
