Firmware Update for SoundJet R2 – Avantree Support

Fix crackling or popping sounds with your SoundJet R2

This firmware update is designed to address crackling or popping noises when using AD headphones with the Avantree SoundJet R2.

Follow the steps below to install firmware TC318 V1.7 using a Windows computer.

Before You Start: You need a Windows PC and a USB data cable.

A charging-only USB cable may not allow your computer to detect the SoundJet R2. Do not unplug the device while the firmware update is running.

Step 1 of 6 Connect SoundJet R2 to Your Computer

Connect your SoundJet R2 to a Windows PC using a USB data cable.

Make sure the USB connection is secure before proceeding.

Important: Use a cable that supports data transfer, not just charging.

Step 2 of 6 Download the Firmware and BlueSuite

Download both files from the links above:

Firmware: TC318 V1.7

Update software: BlueSuite Windows Installer

Save the files somewhere easy to find, such as your Downloads folder.

Keep the firmware file available. You'll need to select it inside the update software later.

Step 3 of 6 Install BlueSuite

Open the downloaded BlueSuite ZIP file and extract its contents.

Double-click the installer to begin installation.

When Windows asks whether you want to allow the application to make changes, click Yes.

BlueSuite installation: select the installer, then approve the Windows permission prompt.

Step 4 of 6 Open HidDfuApp

After installing BlueSuite, open the Windows Start menu.

Search for HidDfuApp and open the application.

Find and launch HidDfuApp on your Windows computer.

Step 5 of 6 Select the Firmware File and Click Run

In the HID DFU Application, click Choose.

Find and select the downloaded TC318 V1.7 firmware (.bin) file.

Click Run to start the update.

Select the firmware file using Choose, then start the update with Run.

Do not disconnect SoundJet R2. Wait for the application to finish the firmware update.

Step 6 of 6 Confirm the Update Was Successful

Wait until the firmware update finishes.

A successful update displays a green progress bar and a completion message in the application.

If you see an error instead of a successful completion message, do not assume the update has finished correctly.

Firmware Update Complete

After a successful update, reconnect your SoundJet R2 to your audio source and test playback with your headphones.

Check whether the crackling or popping noise has improved.

Having Trouble Updating?

SoundJet R2 is not detected: Make sure you're using a USB data cable. Try another USB port if necessary.

Cannot find HidDfuApp: Confirm that BlueSuite was extracted and installed successfully.

Firmware update failed: Check that you selected the correct SoundJet R2 firmware file. If the update continues to fail, contact Avantree Support.
