Connect Bluetooth Headphones / Speakers to TC417
Follow these 5 simple steps to pair your Bluetooth headphones or speakers with the Avantree TC417.
Most Bluetooth headphones and speakers can connect to TC417. Make sure both devices are in Bluetooth pairing mode when establishing the connection.
Power On Your TC417
Locate the MFB (Multi-Function Button) on your TC417.
Press and hold the MFB button for 3 seconds until the LED indicator turns green.
Hold until the green LED appears.
Expected LED Indicator
Green Light indicates TC417 has powered on.
Set TC417 to TX Mode
Locate the TX / RX switch on your TC417.
Slide the switch to TX.
TX means Transmitter. This mode sends TV audio from TC417 to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
Put TC417 into Bluetooth Pairing Mode
If you are using TC417 for the first time, it should enter Bluetooth pairing mode automatically.
Otherwise, press and hold the PAIR button for 2 seconds.
Release the button when TC417 enters pairing mode.
Check the LED Indicator
The pairing LED behavior depends on your TC417 batch. Either flashing pattern indicates Bluetooth pairing mode.
Put Your Headphones / Speakers into Pairing Mode
Now put your Bluetooth headphones or speakers into Bluetooth pairing mode.
Follow your headphone or speaker manufacturer's pairing instructions.
If your headphones or speakers have already connected to another device, simply turning them on may not activate pairing mode.
You must manually activate Bluetooth pairing mode.
Some headphones and speakers automatically enter pairing mode when powered on for the first time.
Find Pairing Instructions for Your Brand
Select your headphone or speaker brand below to view its pairing instructions.
Temporarily turn off Bluetooth on your phone, computer, tablet, or other devices previously paired with your headphones.
This helps prevent your headphones from reconnecting to the wrong device.
Wait for TC417 to Connect
Keep TC417 and your Bluetooth headphones or speakers close together.
Make sure both devices are still in pairing mode and allow them time to connect.
Successful Connection Indicator
Solid Green
TC417 is connected to your Bluetooth device.
Your TC417 and Bluetooth headphones or speakers are now paired and connected.
If TC417 is already connected to your TV's audio output, you can now test the TV sound.
Repeat the pairing process and confirm that both devices are in Bluetooth pairing mode.
Keep other previously paired Bluetooth devices disconnected while pairing.
Common Questions
Why Is TC417 Flashing Red and Green?
Alternating red and green indicates that TC417 is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
For TC417 units manufactured before Batch 23F1, the LED flashes green only during pairing mode.
How Do I Know My Headphones Are Connected?
Once TC417 successfully connects to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers, its LED indicator will remain solid green.
Why Won't My Headphones Connect?
Check the following:
- TC417 is powered on and set to TX mode.
- TC417 is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Your headphones or speakers are also in pairing mode.
- Bluetooth is turned off on previously connected phones or computers.
- Both devices are close together.
If the connection still fails, try repeating the pairing process.
Can I Connect Any Bluetooth Headphones?
Most standard Bluetooth headphones and speakers can pair with TC417.
Make sure your device supports normal Bluetooth audio pairing and can enter pairing mode.
My TC417 Is Connected but I Hear No TV Sound. What Should I Do?
A solid green LED confirms that TC417 is connected to your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
If you still hear no sound, check the connection between TC417 and your TV.
