Before You Start: Wireless interference, an unstable connection, or incompatible TV audio settings may cause disconnections, sound dropouts, crackling, or distortion.
Step 1 – Check for Wireless Interference
Nearby wireless devices may interfere with the headphone connection and cause dropouts or disconnections.
- Keep the headphones within 3 feet (1 meter) of the transmitter/base.
- Temporarily turn OFF Bluetooth on nearby phones, tablets, and other devices.
- Move the transmitter away from Wi-Fi routers, cable boxes, and other wireless electronics.
- Play audio for 5–10 minutes to check if the issue continues.
Step 2 – Adjust the Sound Settings
- Set the transmitter’s Volume Boost to OFF.
- Set the headphones to Balanced Mode. Press the headphones’ EQ button to cycle through the sound modes.
- Play audio again to check whether the issue continues.
Note: Volume Boost works with the Optical connection only.
Step 3 – Set the Audio Format to PCM
If using Optical or HDMI, formats such as Dolby Digital or DTS may cause distorted, interrupted, or missing sound. Set the audio format to PCM / Stereo on the TV and, if applicable, the cable box or streaming device.
TV: Settings → Sound → Digital Audio Output → PCM / Stereo
Cable box / streaming device: Settings → Audio → Digital Audio Format → PCM / Stereo
Menu names may vary by brand and model.
Step 4 – Find Where the Issue Happens
Testing another connection or using Bluetooth can help identify whether the issue is with the TV audio source, transmitter/base, or headphones.
A. Test Different TV Connections
Try another connection supported by your TV and transmitter:
- HDMI ARC
- Optical
- AUX / 3.5 mm
Does the issue happen with every connection or only one?
B. Test the Headphones in Bluetooth Mode
- Switch the headphones to Bluetooth (BT) mode.
- If needed, press and hold ⏯ for 3 seconds until the headphone LED flashes red and blue.
- Open your phone’s Settings → Bluetooth and select Crescendo 3D.
- Wait for the headphone LED to turn solid blue, then play audio for 5–10 minutes.
Does the issue also happen in Bluetooth mode, or only when using the transmitter/base?
