If your Harmony A2 has crackling, dropouts, weak sound, or missing voices or instruments, start with the input connection.
1. Check your audio input
Using AUX?
Match the cable to your source’s output. Connect it to the transmitter’s AUX IN. Incorrect wiring can affect volume and sound quality.
3.5 mm audio output
Use a 3.5 mm stereo AUX cable.
Using Bluetooth?
Keep your phone close to the transmitter. The Bluetooth range between them is about 10–15 m (30–50 ft) without obstructions. If the sound is unstable, move your phone closer and reconnect Bluetooth. For better stability, use a wired audio connection.
2. Update the transmitter and Harmony A2 speakers
If the connection checks do not help, update both the transmitter and your Harmony A2 speaker(s), especially if the sound deteriorates during extended use.

3. Reset after updating, then test again
Reset the transmitter and each Harmony A2 speaker separately using the guide below. Then test the sound with your usual audio source.
Follow the Harmony A2 reset instructions →
Note: This reset erases Classic Bluetooth pairing records; Auracast connections are retained. Re-pair your phone if needed.
