You can use Audikast 4 / 4HA with a soundbar so both your soundbar and compatible headphones or hearing aids receive TV audio. The setup depends on how your soundbar connects to the TV.
How Is Your Soundbar Connected?
Check the cable connecting your TV and soundbar, then select your setup below.
Soundbar Connected by Optical
Use an Optical splitter to send TV sound to both your soundbar and Audikast 4 / 4HA.
• 1 Optical splitter (1 input, 2 outputs)
• 1 additional Optical cable
View Recommended Optical Splitter →Setup Steps
- Disconnect the Optical cable currently connecting your TV directly to the soundbar.
- Connect your TV's OPTICAL OUT to OPTICAL IN on the splitter.
- Connect one splitter OPTICAL OUT to your soundbar's OPTICAL IN.
- Use the additional Optical cable to connect the second splitter OPTICAL OUT to OPTICAL IN on Audikast 4 / 4HA.
Soundbar Connected by HDMI ARC / eARC
If your soundbar uses HDMI ARC / eARC, consider the Avantree HAX06 audio extractor to send sound to your soundbar and Audikast 4 / 4HA.
• 1 Avantree HAX06
• 1 additional HDMI cable
• An Optical cable for Audikast 4 / 4HA
View Avantree HAX06 →Setup Steps
- Connect the TV's HDMI ARC / eARC port to HDMI ARC IN on the HAX06.
- Connect HDMI ARC OUT on the HAX06 to the soundbar's HDMI ARC input.
- Connect OPT OUT on the HAX06 to OPTICAL IN on Audikast 4 / 4HA.
- Turn on the TV, soundbar, HAX06, and Audikast 4 / 4HA.
No Sound from Audikast 4 / 4HA?
If the soundbar works but your headphones or hearing aids have no sound, check your TV's Digital Audio Output setting and try PCM.
