This is a TV based feature. Most modern TVs can play sound through both TV speakers and Optical Out (to your Avantree transmitter), but some TV cannot.
Option 1: Use Avantree Transmitter (Base Station)
This is the most reliable method and works with almost all TVs that have an Optical output.
LG TVs – Easiest Setup
Go to:
Settings > Sound OutSelect “TV Speaker + Optical”
Done — both outputs work automatically.
Samsung / Fire TV / Sony / Roku / TCL
These TVs support simultaneous audio when set correctly:
How to Enable:
Go to:
Settings > Sound > Expert SettingsSet Digital Output Audio Format → PCM
Set Sound Output → TV Speaker
(Optional) Unplug & replug the optical cable to refresh the signal
✅ PCM Format = Required
✅ Simultaneous Optical Output = ON (enabled by default on many Samsung TVs)
✅ TV Speakers + Optical Out = Both will work!
📝 Note: Some Samsung models include this under
Settings > Accessibility
Look for “Simultaneous Optical Output” — make sure it's ON.
Option 2: Connect Headphones/Hearing Aids Directly via TV Bluetooth
Some newer smart TVs (2022+) support Bluetooth + TV Speaker at the same time.
Currently supported by:
Samsung (2022 & newer models)
LG (with Multi-Output Audio setting)
❗ Most TVs only support one Bluetooth connection at a time. This method only works if your TV explicitly supports dual output via Bluetooth.
⚠️ Still No Sound from TV Speakers?
Some TVs may not allow both outputs simultaneously. Try these options:
Option 1: Use a Soundbar / AV Receiver
Connect your TV → Soundbar (via HDMI ARC or AUX)
Use optical out from soundbar to Avantree transmitter
TV sound goes to both speaker & headphone = ✅
Option 2: Add Another Avantree Headphone
Pair an extra headphone to your system
Everyone hears clearly — no need for TV speaker
