If you want to use your Audikast 4 / 4HA together with a soundbar and hearing aids or headphones, the setup depends on the type of connection your soundbar supports. This guide covers Optical and HDMI ARC connections.
Option 1: For Soundbar with Optical
If your soundbar uses an Optical connection, we recommend using an Optical Splitter.
Setup:
- Connect the TV’s Optical Out to the Optical Splitter input.
- Connect one splitter output to the Audikast 4 / 4HA transmitter.
- Connect the other splitter output to the soundbar’s Optical input.
This allows both the soundbar and Audikast 4 / 4HA transmitter to receive TV audio simultaneously.
Option 2: For Soundbar with HDMI ARC
If your soundbar uses HDMI ARC, we recommend using the Avantree HAX06 HDMI ARC Audio Extractor.
Step-by-Step Setup:
-
Connect HAX06 to TV
- Plug in the USB power cable (5V / 0.5–3A).
- Connect the HAX06 HDMI ARC IN port to the TV’s HDMI ARC port.
-
Connect HAX06 to Soundbar
- Connect HDMI ARC OUT from HAX06 to the soundbar’s HDMI ARC port.
-
Connect HAX06 to Audikast 4 / 4HA
- Use OPT OUT on HAX06 to connect to the Audikast 4 / 4HA transmitter.
-
Set Bypass
- Turn the Bypass switch on HAX06 to ON.
-
Turn Off TV eARC (if applicable)
- If your TV supports eARC, ensure it is turned off to avoid signal conflicts.
Tip:
- If there is no sound through the Optical or RCA output, set the TV audio format to PCM.
- The Bypass LED on the HAX06 should display solid green when HDMI ARC is active.
