Why not just use Classic Bluetooth?
Classic Bluetooth typically connects only one or two headphones to a single device, so it is not designed for large multi-user listening. For multiple listeners, consider one of the three approaches below.
3 Approaches
Choose the setup that fits your listeners.
You can use an Auracast system, a classic wireless group listening system, or a hybrid system that supports both Auracast and easy-to-use venue receivers.

Auracast Approach
Pros
- Future-ready for Auracast-enabled devices.
- Compatible Auracast hearing aids and headphones can connect directly.
- Users can bring their own compatible Auracast devices.
Consider
- Not all hearing aids or headphones support Auracast yet.
- Some users may need help finding and joining the broadcast.

Classic Wireless Approach
Pros
- Multiple compatible receivers can be added.
- Very simple for visitors — switch on and listen.
- No phone, app, or broadcast selection is needed.
Consider
- Uses its own wireless system rather than Auracast.
- Users cannot directly join with their own Auracast or standard Bluetooth devices.

Hybrid Solution
Pros
- Combines Auracast broadcasting with simple venue-provided receivers.
- Compatible hearing aid or headphone users can join the Auracast broadcast directly.
- Other visitors can use the supplied receivers without needing their own Auracast device.
Good for mixed audiences
- Useful when some visitors bring compatible hearing aids while others need an easy loaner receiver.

Compare the 3 approaches
| Approach | Examples | Advantages | Things to Consider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Auracast | Audikast 4HA, Voyager, Oasis Aura, AirCast, NetCast | Future-ready; compatible hearing aids and headphones can join directly; supports bring-your-own compatible devices. | Auracast support is not yet available on every hearing aid or headphone; some listeners may need help joining. |
| Classic Wireless | Audiplex MX, Quartet 2, Harmony Systems | Supports multiple compatible receivers; simple switch-on-and-listen experience; no pairing or app needed for the listener. | Uses its own wireless ecosystem and does not allow visitors to directly use their own Auracast or standard Bluetooth devices. |
| Hybrid | AuraPlex MX | Combines Auracast with easy venue-provided receivers, allowing different types of listeners to use the same system. | The venue should plan how many loan receivers are needed for visitors who do not have compatible Auracast devices. |
