Audikast 4 – Fix No Sound

Follow these simple checks to restore TV sound.

Before You Begin

Turn on your TV and Audikast 4 transmitter. Play a TV program or video that has sound.

Start by checking the Audio Signal indicator on Audikast 4.

Check the Audio Signal LED

Look at the Audio Signal indicator while your TV is playing.

Solid White

Audikast 4 is receiving TV audio. Continue to Step 2.

Flashing White

The TV may be sending an unsupported audio format. Check the TV audio settings below.

Audio Signal flashing white? Fix TV settings
  1. Open your TV's Sound or Audio settings.
  2. Find Digital Audio Output or Digital Sound Format.
  3. Change the audio format to PCM.
  4. Play a TV program again and check the Audio Signal LED.
TV Settings → Sound → Digital Audio Output → PCM
Expected: Audio Signal indicator becomes solid white.

Choose Your Listening Device

Are you using hearing aids or Bluetooth headphones? Choose only the section that applies to you in Step 3.

Fix Your Listening Device

Click your listening device below to expand its instructions. Both sections are closed by default.

Hearing Aids – Auracast

Follow these steps if you are listening through Auracast-compatible hearing aids.

  1. Check Hearing Aid Mode. Make sure the Hearing Aid Mode indicator on Audikast 4 is solid white.
  2. Restart your hearing aids and phone. Place both hearing aids in their charging case, restart your phone, then remove the hearing aids.
  3. Reconnect your hearing aids. Check your phone's Bluetooth or Accessibility settings and confirm the hearing aids are connected.
  4. Join the Audikast 4 broadcast. Open your hearing aid companion app, find the available Auracast broadcasts, and select Audikast 4.
  5. Test the TV sound. Play a TV program and adjust your hearing aid volume as needed.
Expected: Hearing Aid Mode indicator solid white, hearing aids joined to Audikast 4, and TV sound playing.
Hearing aids connected but still no sound?
  1. Stop any music, videos, or calls playing on your phone.
  2. Confirm your hearing aids joined the Audikast 4 broadcast.
  3. Check that the TV Audio Signal indicator is solid white.
  4. Rejoin the Auracast broadcast if needed.
Audikast 4 appears but won't connect?

If your app shows "Auracast info not available" but still allows you to select Audikast 4, try selecting the broadcast.

Also confirm your hearing aids are connected to your phone and Hearing Aid Mode is active.

Headphones / Earbuds – Bluetooth

Follow these steps if you're using regular Bluetooth headphones or earbuds.

  1. Check the TV audio. The Audio Signal indicator should be solid white. If flashing white, change the TV audio format to PCM.
  2. Disconnect nearby devices. Temporarily turn off Bluetooth on phones, tablets, computers, or TVs previously paired with your headphones.
  3. Check the Bluetooth indicator. A solid Bluetooth indicator means your headphones are connected. A flashing indicator means they are not connected yet.
  4. Pair your headphones again if needed. Put your headphones into pairing mode and pair them with Audikast 4.
  5. Adjust the volume. Increase the headphone volume and Audikast 4 volume gradually.
Expected: Audio Signal indicator solid white, Bluetooth indicator solid, and TV sound playing through your headphones.
Bluetooth indicator keeps flashing?
  1. Make sure your headphones are in pairing mode.
  2. Turn off Bluetooth on nearby previously paired devices.
  3. Pair your headphones with Audikast 4 again.
  4. Wait until the Bluetooth indicator becomes solid.
Bluetooth connected but still no sound?
  1. Play a TV program with sound.
  2. Confirm the Audio Signal indicator is solid white.
  3. Increase the headphone and Audikast 4 volume gradually.
  4. Reconnect your headphones if necessary.

Still No Sound?

Try these additional checks if the issue continues.

Hearing aids connected to phone but not TV

Connecting hearing aids to your phone does not automatically connect them to Audikast 4.

Hearing Aid App → Find a Broadcast → Audikast 4

Select the broadcast and test the TV audio again.

Audikast 4 is in the wrong listening mode

For hearing aids: Select Hearing Aid Mode and confirm its indicator is solid white.

For Bluetooth headphones: Use Bluetooth Mode and confirm your headphones are paired.

Headphones keep reconnecting to another device

Temporarily turn off Bluetooth on previously paired phones, tablets, computers, or TVs.

Then put your headphones into pairing mode and reconnect them to Audikast 4.
