Before You Start: Having trouble with sound in one ear, distorted bass, low volume, unclear voices, or crackling? Find your issue below and follow the steps.
Step 1 – Sound Only Coming from One Side
- Turn the headphones OFF, then back ON.
- Test the headphones with another TV show or video.
- Connect the headphones directly to your phone through Bluetooth and test both sides.
Still only hearing one side? If the same side is silent when connected to your phone, the headphones may have a hardware issue. Contact Avantree Support.
Step 2 – Bass Sounds Distorted or Too Strong
- Press the EQ button on the left earcup until you hear “Balanced Mode.”
- If using Optical, set the transmitter’s OPT Volume / Volume Boost switch to Normal / OFF.
- On your TV, set Digital Audio Output Format to PCM.
Step 3 – Volume Is Extremely Low
- Press Volume + on the headphones and transmitter.
- If using Optical, try the transmitter’s Volume Boost / OPT Volume setting.
- If using AUX, increase your TV’s headphone or audio output volume.
- Check that your TV’s audio settings are correct.
Note: Volume Boost works with Optical input only.
Step 4 – Dialogue Is Unclear or Muffled
- Press the EQ button until you hear “Voice Clear Mode.”
- Increase the headphone volume to a comfortable level.
- If using Optical, set your TV’s audio format to PCM.
Tip: Voice Clear helps emphasize speech. If voices sound sharp or unnatural, switch back to Balanced Mode.
Step 5 – Sound Cuts Out or Crackles
- Move the headphones closer to the transmitter.
- Move the transmitter away from Wi-Fi routers and other wireless devices.
- Turn off nearby Bluetooth devices, then restart the headphones and transmitter.
Still Having Problems?
Unplug and reconnect the audio cable firmly. Try another compatible cable, then test the headphones directly with a phone to help identify whether the issue is with the headphones or the TV setup.
