Using multiple Avantree Orbit transmitters? This optional firmware patch lets you rename your second or third Orbit so you can identify each one more easily.

Do not install this firmware patch without consulting Avantree Support first.
An incorrect firmware update can make your Orbit unusable. Device failure caused by an incorrectly performed DFU update without prior consultation with Avantree Support may not be covered by warranty.
This patch is intended for Avantree Orbit (TC580). Do not use it with Orbit Pro or another model.
CONTACT SUPPORT BEFORE UPDATINGKeep your first Orbit under its existing name. Update the second or third Orbit using the corresponding firmware file.
Rename Your Second Orbit to "Orbit 2" Select this patch for your second Orbit transmitter.
This patch changes the Bluetooth pairing name of the selected Orbit to Orbit 2.
Rename Your Third Orbit to "Orbit 3" Select this patch for your third Orbit transmitter.
This patch changes the Bluetooth pairing name of the selected Orbit to Orbit 3.
Connect your Orbit (TC580) to a Windows PC or Mac using a USB Type-C cable that supports data transfer.
Power on Orbit, then press and hold the Search and Connect buttons at the same time for approximately 7 seconds.
The confirmation depends on your Orbit's manufacturing batch. Select the matching option below.
After LOT 20L2
The bottom LED should turn solid white after you hold both buttons for approximately 7 seconds.
Orbit has entered DFU mode.
Before LOT 20L2
The LCD screen should briefly display Avantree for approximately 2 seconds.
The text then disappears, leaving the LCD screen bright but blank.
After Orbit enters DFU mode, select your computer below and follow the firmware update instructions.
Windows PC
- Download and install CSR BlueSuite using the Windows firmware update guide.
- Launch the firmware update tool as instructed in the guide.
- Select the Orbit 2 or Orbit 3 DFU file downloaded in Step 1.
- Follow the on-screen instructions until the update completes successfully.
Mac Computer
- Open the Avantree firmware update guide for macOS.
- Download and install the updater specified in the guide.
- Select the Orbit 2 or Orbit 3 DFU file downloaded in Step 1.
- Follow the updater instructions until the process is complete.
Keep Orbit connected to your computer until the firmware updater confirms that the process has completed.
Disconnecting the USB cable or interrupting the update may cause the device to stop working.
Once the firmware update finishes, restart your Orbit.
When searching for the transmitter from a compatible Bluetooth device, the updated unit should now appear under its new name: Orbit 2 or Orbit 3.
If the old name still appears, remove the previous Bluetooth pairing entry and search again.
New Name Not Appearing or Update Not Working?
- Computer cannot detect Orbit: Make sure the USB cable supports data transfer.
- Unable to enter DFU mode: Hold Search and Connect together for approximately 7 seconds, then check the correct LED or LCD indication for your batch.
- Wrong pairing name: Confirm that you selected the correct Orbit 2 or Orbit 3 firmware. Contact support before attempting another update.
- Old Bluetooth name still appears: Delete the saved pairing entry on your Bluetooth device, then scan for available devices again.
- Update failed: Do not repeatedly attempt different firmware files. Contact Avantree Support.
