Step-by-Step Bluetooth Device Firmware Update (DFU) Guide with Windows PC

Update Your Avantree Firmware on Windows PC

Follow the screenshots one step at a time to update your Avantree Bluetooth device using Qualcomm BlueSuite 2.6.11.

Click Next Step after completing each instruction. You can use Previous to review any step.

Before You Begin: You need a Windows PC, the correct firmware .dfu file for your device, and a USB data cable.

Exception: DG60, DG80, and DG50 can be plugged directly into the computer without a separate USB data cable.

Follow your product's instructions to enter firmware update (DFU) mode before starting. Never use firmware intended for a different model.

Step 1: Download and Install BlueSuite

Download CSR BlueSuite 2.6.11 and install it on your Windows computer.

Note: BlueSuite is a Windows application. Make sure you have already downloaded the correct firmware file for your Avantree product.
Step 2: Open DFUWizard

Open the Windows Start menu and find Qualcomm BlueSuite 2.6.11 under your installed programs.

Step 3: Start the Firmware Upgrade Wizard

The BlueCore Device Firmware Upgrade Wizard will open.

Click Next.

Click Next to begin.
Step 4: Select USB Connection

Under Connection Type, select Universal Serial Bus (USB).

Then click Next.

Choose Universal Serial Bus (USB), then click Next.
Device not detected? Check the USB connection and confirm that your device is in DFU mode.
Step 5: Choose the Upgrade Action

Select: Download a new version of the firmware, saving a copy of the current version first .

This is the recommended option shown in the firmware wizard.

Select the first option to save the current firmware before upgrading.
Tip: Keep the backup file in a safe location in case Avantree Support needs it later.
Step 6: Select Your Firmware File

Click Browse.

Find and select the .dfu firmware file downloaded for your specific Avantree product.

Click Next.

Click Browse, choose your firmware file, then click Next.

Important: The filename in the screenshot is only an example. Select the firmware intended for your own device.

Step 7: Confirm the Firmware Upgrade

The wizard will display a Ready to Upgrade screen.

Check that the correct device and firmware file are shown.

Click Next to begin the upgrade.

Review the information, then click Next.
Step 8: Wait for the Update to Finish

The wizard will show Upgrade in Progress while installing the firmware.

Wait until the process completes.

Wait for both the firmware update and device reconfiguration to finish.

Do not unplug your device, close the wizard, or interrupt the update. Wait for the success confirmation.

Step 9: Finish the Firmware Update

When the wizard displays Successful Upgrade, click Finish.

Once the update has completed successfully, unplug your Avantree device and USB cable, then exit the application.

Your device is now ready for use.

Having Trouble with the Firmware Update?
  • Cannot find DFUWizard: Check that Qualcomm BlueSuite 2.6.11 installed successfully.
  • Device is not detected: Confirm that the USB cable supports data transfer and that your Avantree device has entered DFU mode.
  • Cannot select the firmware file: Make sure the file has a .dfu extension and is intended for your exact product.
  • Firmware update fails: Stop and contact Avantree Support. Include the error message or screenshot.
  • Unsure which firmware to use: Contact Avantree Support before attempting an update.
