HT381 – How to Use Ambient Mode

Ambient Mode lets you hear people and sounds around you without removing the HT381 receiver.

Ambient Mode uses the built-in microphone on the receiver to pick up nearby sounds. Use it when you want to talk with someone nearby, hear someone at the door, or listen to sounds around you.

Step 1 – Turn ON the Receiver

Move the receiver's power switch to ON.

Flashing GREEN = Transmitter is OFF

Solid GREEN = Connected to the transmitter

Either LED status is okay for using Ambient Mode.

Step 2 – Press the AMBIENT Button

Press the AMBIENT button once.

You will hear 2 beeps.

Solid RED = Ambient Mode is ON

You can now hear sounds around you through the receiver.

Return to Normal TV Listening

Press the AMBIENT button once again. Ambient Mode turns OFF and the receiver returns to normal TV listening mode.

Something Doesn’t Look Right?

Receiver Is Solid RED

Solid RED means Ambient Mode is ON. Press AMBIENT once if you want to return to normal TV listening.

I Can Hear the Room Instead of the TV

Ambient Mode may be ON. Check for a solid RED light, then press AMBIENT once to return to normal TV listening.

Ambient Mode Does Not Turn ON

Make sure the receiver is powered ON. Then press the AMBIENT button once. You should hear 2 beeps and see a solid RED light.
