Opera Reconnect & Lock
Pair, Connect & Lock Your Opera Headphones to the Transmitter
Use this guide if your Opera headphones no longer reconnect automatically, were previously paired with another Bluetooth device, or you are setting up replacement Opera headphones.
Pairing and Locking Are Two Different Steps
For the Opera headphones to reconnect automatically in the future, you need to complete both steps.
Connect the Opera headphones and transmitter to each other.
Save the connection so they automatically reconnect in the future.
Before You Start
Reduce nearby Bluetooth and wireless interference before pairing.
- Temporarily turn Bluetooth OFF on nearby phones, tablets, computers, and TVs.
- Keep the Opera headphones and transmitter close together.
- If possible, move away from Wi-Fi routers, wireless access points, microwaves, and other strong 2.4 GHz devices.
- Make sure the Opera headphones have enough battery.
Follow These 4 Steps
Reduce TV and wireless interference.
Hold the + and − buttons together.
Put the Opera transmitter into pairing mode.
Step 4 — LOCK
After the headphones connect, lock them to the Opera transmitter so they remember each other.
Prepare the Opera Transmitter
Reduce possible TV or wireless interference before pairing.
If the Transmitter Is Powered by Your TV
Temporarily disconnect the Opera transmitter from the TV's USB power connection.
Power the transmitter from a USB wall charger or computer instead, then turn the TV off while you complete the pairing process.
This helps reduce interference while the headphones and transmitter reconnect.
Ready?
Keep the headphones close to the transmitter and continue to Step 2.
Reset the Opera Headphones
This clears the previous connection and puts the headphones back into pairing mode.
On the Opera Headphones
Press and hold the + and − buttons together for approximately 6 seconds.
Watch the Headphone LED
Red and blue may illuminate together briefly, which can appear pink.
Flashing red + blue means the headphones are in pairing mode.
Put the Opera Transmitter in Pairing Mode
The transmitter must also be searching for the Opera headphones.
On the Opera Transmitter
Move and hold the OFF / ON / PAIR switch at PAIR for approximately 5 seconds.
Keep the transmitter and headphones close together while they search for each other.
Red + Blue Flashing
The devices are still trying to connect.
Solid Blue
The headphones and transmitter are connected.
Continue to Step 4 — LOCK.
LOCK the Headphones to the Opera Transmitter
This important final step saves the connection for future use.
Press and Hold LOCK
Once the headphones and transmitter are connected, press and hold the LOCK button for approximately 10 seconds.
Watch the transmitter's front LED.
The LED may briefly turn pink while the lock is being saved.
Once the LED becomes solid blue, the headphones and Opera transmitter are successfully connected and locked together.
Pairing & Locking Complete
Your Opera transmitter and headphones should now remember each other and automatically reconnect when they are turned on.
You should not need to repeat the pairing process during normal use.
Why Is the LOCK Step Important?
Pairing creates the Bluetooth connection. LOCK saves the Opera headphones as the transmitter's preferred headphones.
If you stop after pairing and do not complete the LOCK step, the headphones may not automatically reconnect the next time the system is powered on.
Still Not Connecting?
Match what you see below to the most likely cause.
Headphones Are Not Flashing Red + Blue
Repeat the headphone reset. Hold + and − together for about 6 seconds.
Transmitter Is Not Flashing Red + Blue
Hold the transmitter switch at PAIR for about 5 seconds and try again.
Both Devices Are Flashing but Will Not Connect
Keep them close together, turn Bluetooth off on nearby devices, and move away from strong Wi-Fi or other 2.4 GHz interference.
They Connect Now but Do Not Reconnect Later
Repeat the process and make sure you complete Step 4 — LOCK.
Connection Still Failing? Restart the Process
- Turn Bluetooth off on nearby phones, tablets, computers, and TVs.
- Keep the Opera headphones and transmitter close together.
- Hold + and − on the headphones for approximately 6 seconds.
