Aura Loop (Dual) – Set Up Private Mode with a Passcode
Private Mode protects your Auracast broadcast with a passcode. Only compatible devices with the correct passcode can join.
Before You Start
You will need:
- Aura Loop transmitter and Loop earbuds
- Windows PC or Mac
- USB data cable
- iPhone or Android phone
- Avantree Firmware Updater
- Avantree–Avantalk App
Step 1 – Update the Transmitter
Private Mode requires transmitter firmware V0.2.9 or later.
Download Avantree Firmware Updater
- Install and open the Avantree Firmware Updater.
- Connect the transmitter to your computer using a USB data cable.
- Turn the transmitter ON.
- Wait for the Updater to detect it.
- Click Check for Updates.
- Install firmware V0.2.9 or later.
Step 2 – Update the Loop Earbuds
Private Mode requires earbud firmware V0.8.0 or later.
- Turn on the Loop earbuds.
- Connect them through your phone’s Bluetooth Settings.
- Wait until your phone shows Connected.
- Open the Avantree–Avantalk App.
- Tap Add Device → Avantree Loop → Connect.
- Install firmware V0.8.0 or later.
Step 3 – Connect the Earbuds to the Transmitter
- Turn the transmitter ON.
- Turn the Loop earbuds ON.

Make sure the earbuds are in Auracast mode.
Flashing ORANGE = Searching for an Auracast broadcast
- Keep the earbuds close to the transmitter.

Wait for them to connect.
Solid ORANGE = Connected through Auracast
Step 4 – Set and Apply Your Passcode
Return to the Avantree Firmware Updater on your computer.
- Open the Advanced tab.
- Find Encryption.
- Select Encrypted (User-defined).
- Enter your passcode.
- Enable Synchronize to supported Avantree Rx.
- Click Apply Settings and wait for the process to finish.
Do not turn off or disconnect either device while the settings are being applied.
Step 5 – Test Private Mode
- Keep the transmitter ON.
- Turn the Loop earbuds OFF.
- Wait a few seconds, then turn them back ON.
- Wait for the earbuds to reconnect.
- Play TV audio and check for sound.
Something Doesn’t Look Right?
Earbuds Stopped Connecting After Setting the Passcode
Do not reset the earbuds yet.
- Open the Avantree Firmware Updater.
- Go to Advanced → Encryption.
- Change Encrypted to Public.
- Click Apply.
- Wait for the earbuds to reconnect and confirm TV sound.
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 while the earbuds remain connected.
Private Mode or Encryption Option Is Missing
Update the transmitter to V0.2.9 or later using Check for Updates in the Avantree Firmware Updater.
App Cannot Find the Loop Earbuds
- Open your phone’s regular Bluetooth Settings.
- Connect Avantree Loop.
- Wait until it shows Connected.
- Reopen the App and select Add Device → Avantree Loop → Connect.
