VoxAmp Duo – How to Fix Feedback Noise
Hearing a loud whistling, squealing, or howling noise? Follow these steps to stop it.
Why Does This Happen?
Feedback happens when the microphone picks up sound from the speaker and amplifies it again.
Step 1 – Lower the Volume
- Turn down the speaker volume.
- Speak normally into the microphone.
- Slowly increase the volume until your voice is clear, without whistling.
Tip: Avoid setting the volume too high, especially when the microphone is near the speaker.
Step 2 – Move the Microphone Away
- Keep the microphone at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from the speaker.
- Move farther away if the whistling continues.
- Speak into the microphone again to check the sound.
Tip: The farther the microphone is from the speaker, the less likely feedback will occur.
Step 3 – Change the Microphone Direction
- Do not point the microphone directly at the speaker.
- Position the speaker so it faces away from the microphone.
- Avoid standing directly in front of the speaker while speaking.
Step 4 – Test the Microphone Again
- Start with the speaker volume low.
- Speak normally into the microphone.
- Slowly increase the volume to a comfortable level.
Whistling returns? Lower the volume or move the microphone farther away from the speaker.
