Ensemble Charging Troubleshooting
Ensemble Headphones Not Charging?
Charging problems are usually caused by the headphones not sitting correctly on the dock, the charging contacts not touching, or the charging base not receiving enough power.
Start Here — Place the Headphones on the Charging Dock
Place the headphones securely on the charging pins, then check the charging LED.
Solid Red
The headphones are charging normally.
Leave them on the dock until charging is complete.
LED Is Off
If the headphones have been charging for about 2 hours, this normally means they are fully charged.
If you just placed them on the dock and the LED stays off, continue to Step 1.
Important: The Charging LED Does Not Turn Green
On Ensemble, the charging LED stays solid red while charging and turns off when charging is complete.
A fully charged battery normally takes about 2 hours from empty.
Important: Make Sure the Charging Contacts Are Touching
The headphones only charge when the metal contacts on the headphones line up correctly with the charging pins on the dock.
The headphones can appear to be sitting correctly on the base even when the charging contacts are not fully touching.
Lift and Reseat the Headphones
Start with the quickest and most common fix.
- Lift the headphones completely off the charging dock.
- Check where the metal charging contacts on the headphones meet the dock pins.
- Place the headphones back onto the dock slowly.
- Adjust their position slightly until the charging connection is made.
- Look for a solid red charging LED.
Solid Red Appears?
Good — charging has started. Leave the headphones on the dock.
Check the Charging Dock Power
If reseating the headphones does not start charging, make sure the dock is receiving the correct power.
Use a USB Wall Charger
Connect the charging dock to a 5V, 1–2.4A USB wall charger.
Avoid using a TV USB port, computer USB port, or power bank, because some of these sources may not provide enough power.
Check the Power Connection
- Make sure the USB-C cable is fully inserted into the charging dock.
- Make sure the other end is firmly connected to the USB wall charger.
- Unplug both ends, wait a few seconds, and reconnect them.
- Try another wall outlet if available.
- Place the headphones back on the dock and check for the solid red LED.
Check and Clean the Charging Contacts
Dust, skin oil, or debris can prevent the charging contacts from making a stable connection.
Before Cleaning
Disconnect the charging dock from power first.
- Gently clean the metal charging contacts on the headphones.
- Gently clean the charging pins on the dock.
- Make sure the contacts are dry and free of debris.
- Reconnect the dock to power.
- Place the headphones back on the dock and look for the solid red LED.
Test the Charging Cable or Charge the Headphones Directly
This helps identify whether the problem is with the dock or the headphones.
Try Direct USB-C Charging
Connect the USB-C charging cable directly to the USB-C port on the headphones, then connect the other end to a USB wall charger.
The LED turns off when the headphones are fully charged.
What Does This Test Tell You?
If the headphones charge normally by USB-C but not on the dock, the issue is likely related to the charging dock, dock power, or charging-contact alignment.
If they also do not charge directly by USB-C, try another compatible USB cable and wall charger.
Charging Light Turns Off Within About 30 Seconds
If the red charging light appears but turns off within about 30 seconds, use the headphones for approximately 1 hour.
Then place the headphones back on the charging dock and try charging again.
Still Not Charging?
Open the option that matches what you are seeing.
No Red Charging Light at All
- Lift and reseat the headphones.
- Make sure the charging contacts are touching.
- Clean the contacts if needed.
- Confirm the dock is connected to a USB wall charger.
- Try another compatible USB cable.
- Try charging the headphones directly by USB-C.
Red Light Appears Only When I Move the Headphones
This usually indicates unstable contact between the headphone charging contacts and the dock pins.
Clean both contact areas and reseat the headphones carefully.
Make sure the headphones remain in a position where the solid red LED stays on.
LED Is Off — Are the Headphones Fully Charged or Not Charging?
On Ensemble, an LED that turns off after charging normally means the battery is fully charged.
If you just placed low-battery headphones on the dock and the LED never turns red, the charging connection may not have started.
Lift and reseat the headphones, then check the dock power and charging contacts.
Dock Charging Does Not Work but USB-C Charging Works
The headphones themselves can accept a charge, so focus on:
- Dock power
- Charging-contact alignment
- Dirty charging pins or contacts
- The USB cable powering the dock
Quick LED Reference
The headphones are charging.
Charging is complete.
Still Need Help?
If the Ensemble headphones still do not charge after completing the checks above, contact Avantree Support and include:
- Whether the red charging LED appears at all
- Whether the LED stays solid red or turns off immediately
- Whether repositioning the headphones changes the LED
- Whether direct USB-C charging works
- Whether you tried another USB cable and USB wall charger
- A photo of the headphones sitting on the charging dock, if possible
