Start With These Checks
These steps apply to most Avantree TV headphone sets that use a transmitter or transmitter base.
Do not factory reset yet.
First check the TV audio signal, cable connection, transmitter input, and headphone connection. A factory reset usually is not needed for a basic no-sound problem.
Quick No-Sound Check
Follow these checks in order.
Play Something on the TV
Play a TV channel, video, or other program that you know has sound.
Check the Transmitter's Audio Signal
Look at the audio signal indicator on the transmitter or base.
Use your product's Buttons & Indicators guide if you are unsure which light represents the TV audio signal.
Match the Cable and Transmitter Input
Check which cable connects the TV to the transmitter, then select the matching input on the transmitter.
Use only the connection type supported by your transmitter.
Check the Headphones Are Connected to the Transmitter
Turn on the headphones and check that they show a connected status instead of searching or pairing.
If your headphones have a separate TV, Base, or transmitter mode, make sure that mode is selected.
Some Avantree sets use a TV/Base mode, while others connect to the included transmitter automatically.
Reconnect the Cable and Restart
Unplug the TV audio cable from both ends and reconnect it firmly.
Then turn the transmitter and headphones off and back on.
Check Your TV Settings
Open only the section that matches your TV connection.
Using Optical
- Make sure the cable is connected to the TV's Optical OUT / Digital Audio OUT port.
- Select Optical / Digital Audio Out / External Speaker as the TV sound output when required.
- Set the TV's Digital Audio Output Format to PCM.
- Make sure the transmitter is set to its Optical input.
Using HDMI ARC
- Use the TV HDMI port specifically labeled ARC or eARC.
- Select HDMI ARC / Receiver / External Speaker as the TV sound output when required.
- Set the TV's Digital Audio Output Format to PCM.
- If there is still no sound, turn eARC OFF and test standard ARC.
- Make sure the transmitter is set to HDMI ARC.
Using AUX / Headphone Output
- Connect the cable to the TV's Headphone / Audio OUT jack.
- Push the cable firmly into both the TV and transmitter.
- Select Headphones / Audio Out as the TV sound output when required.
- Increase the TV volume. The TV may control the volume of its headphone output.
- Make sure the transmitter is set to AUX.
Only Certain Apps or Devices Have No Sound?
If regular TV audio works but Netflix, Prime Video, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, a cable box, or another source does not, the source may be using an unsupported audio format. Set its audio output to PCM or Stereo when available.
Sound Worked Before but Suddenly Stopped?
Recheck the TV audio output and PCM setting, reconnect the TV audio cable, then restart the TV, transmitter, and headphones. TV or streaming-device updates can sometimes change audio settings.
